Default Binge eating!!

Hi everyone! I am so discouraged and I don't know what is happening to me... I have started IP since november and everything was going great. No stress in my life, everything is perfect. BUT this past week, I have binged 3 times. I used to do this all the time before IP but since november, it had never happened. I was doing so well, having lost over 40 pounds. What is going in with me? Did that ever happen to you? Does this mean I should quit the program? Any thoughts? Thanks!!!

What triggered you to binge this week? Something emotional or stressful in your life?

Don't give up! The fact that you are questioning yourself is a good sign. I didn't cheat for 11 months and don't know how I did it. In the past 3 months, since I am close to my goal, I have found myself snacking on more meat, which was before the increase to 8 oz. Recently, when I roasted a chicken, I found myself grabbing at the skin and meat like I was on a desert island! Could not stop myself! But, the next day, I got my resolve back. After doing this twice, I realized that roasting the chicken at night, when I am more vulnerable, is a bad idea...better to time it so it is done when I've just had my lunch or something and I won't be as tempted.

No matter how good we are on this plan we will find times when we are really tested and have a difficult time. The past few days have been really challenging for me and I have no idea why other than I've been 100% percent on IP for almost six months and sometimes boredom can set in.

Perhaps you need to try some new recipes, some more variety in your meals. Sometimes we start hearing so many compliments on how good we are looking that we may stop trying so hard. Whatever the reason is, set a goal for yourself. Setting a challenge for yourself may just be the motivation you need to carry on. In the meantime the binges happened and you can't change the past, only the future. So get back on the wagon and get excited about IP again.

This is right on. Don't freak out. Use this as an opportunity to sit down with pen and paper and pour out everything you are thinking and feeling. Get to the bottom of WHY this happened. Pretend you are an outside observer solving a puzzle. Don't judge, just the facts, ma'am! Once you figure it out, you are on your way to finding a different way to deal with that situation when it comes up again. A huge step in changing long term behaviors and keeping that weight off forever!

Thanks a lot for all the encouragement! I think my problem is that I am so close to goal and I do have compliments and that seems to be a permission to eat more. I will try my best to get my motivation back. Once in a while, I bake goodies for my family. I should stay away from temptation for a bit because that seems to be my trigger right now!! Have a wonderful day, ladies.

Just out of sheer curiousity......what happens when you cheat? Do you come out of ketosis and have to wait 4 days to go back in? Do you gain or stop losing I was always curious just thought I would ask I'm not thinking of cheating lol just wondering

I can tell you that I didn't gain or lose but I felt terrible. I could hear very strange things going on in my stomach. Please do not cheat!! I know I have a problem with binge eating and I have to solve it. I am reading a lot about it and sometimes, it is caused by food deprivation. God knows we are very limited on this plan. Also, I am thinking of incorporating exercise. I miss it a lot and maybe it would do me good. For ketosis, I have no idea!! I'll leave that to experts. lol
