Default Ate some carrots by accident in Phase 1 - advice?

Hi all!

Excited to be embarking on my first serious weight loss program with South Beach as my guide and have gotten a lot of great info from the forum already. I'm on day two of phase 1. I have accidentally eaten shredded carrots in the the mixed greens I used as a base for my salad both yesterday and today. Of all the planning I overlooked this!? As soon as I noticed today while I was eating I started to pick them out. How much damage have I done? Do I need to start over??

Not to worry - a few won't hurt. Good for you to notice though and to The Beach!

Don't worry about carrots. I didn't eat them the first phase 1 that I did but in subsequent phase 1s I have. I don't want to differ with Dr. A., but I don't think the small amount of naturally occuring sugars in carrots would be a trigger for most.

It is easy to "accidently" eat them if you buy the mixed frozen vegies....it is SO difficult to find some that have no carrots...like honestly, they must be the most popular vegy out there!!

I will admit to being a carrot cheater! I love them dipped in natural peanut butter and even had them (in moderation) during phase 1.

Thank you ladies!

I have been picking them out but will be much more diligent when shopping next time. I can't wait for when I can have them to dip in hummus.

I agree. I eat bits and pieces of carrots here and there, and they don't trigger cravings. And I'm sure I didn't gain weight over the years by eating too many carrots.
