Default Whatever your food strategy for Thanksgiving... I wish you a day with no food guilt..

I know folks have different ways of approaching a food centered holiday. Some folks are giving themselves the OK to eat all the different foods. Others, maybe a day of small tastes of certain foods - but, avoiding eating other foods. Some folks will take their own food. Some folks will prepare a totally healthy dinner. There are an endless array of menus & how you will handle your Thanksgiving. My opnion is that all of it is OK - if it's OK with you. You know you. Make a conscious decision, maybe a strategy, and go from there.

My wish for us all... is to enjoy the day. Enjoy each and every bite of the food you choose to eat. And - to be able to walk away feeling no guilt. I think that's different for every person.

I hope this makes sense.

PS - Let us enjoy our families and/or friends we gather with, too, of course.

Well said.

Ditto! I hope everyone enjoys their week and holiday regardless of what their approach will be.

My goal is to just be very good this week and go all out on Thanksgiving. I almost always need to go back to eating healthy the next day after a high calorie night so I never really feel guilty. Gunna break out the stretchy jeans though!

Me too!

But yes, whatever your approach, enjoy the day We all deserve a mental and/or physical break every once in a while.

I'm starting Thanksgiving morning out with a 5K Turkey Trot race, which will hopefully keep most guilt at bay!!

What a lovely thought, Beverlyjoy. Thanks for the reminder. I will be with family I don't often get to see because of distance (miles.) It will be wonderful. My plan is to eat like I know I should. That's enough. Sometimes it's easier when you're with people who are thin and don't over-do. I'd be the odd one if I ate the way I used to! I'll let that be my guide.

Thanks to you all for your many thoughts... and for your kind holiday wishes, too.

I got my strategy for the day. I am looking forward to seeing family!

Thanksgiving can sometimes be a nightmare for me. I think that if I remind myself how well I've done so far, that the urge to splurge will be kept at bay.

I am going to pig out on Thanksgiving and not feel guilty. I'm going to eat very light the next day because I won't be as hungry
