i can sometimes choke down an egg but sometimes i can't eat eggs because i find them gross. it's weird. but i'd like to come up with some breakfast ideas that include protein ... all i can think of is eggs or something with peanut butter. any ideas would be helpful. thanks!
For breakfast I usually have a sandwich made from ham, laughing cow light cheese and two slices of thin bread. For like 150 calories. It's really filling for me and it's taken the place of my usual Micky D's before work.
plain non fat yogurt with fruit and flaxseed and maybe some nuts, cottage cheese, peanut butter toast, a turkey sausage, lowfat hamburger, or a protein shake maybe.
Chicken or turkey sausage patty and light cheese on a Pepperidge Farm whole wheat Deli Flat? Deli Flats are almost like English Muffins once you get used to them.
Note that both eggs and peanut butter are 75% fat/25% protein: Adkins people really like them because they are low, low carb, and lots of people confuse low carb with high protein, but they aren't the same thing. I mean, they still have more protein than, say, breakfast cereal, but they very calorically dense, and for me, at least, they leave me hungry. I need bulk.
I eat tons of cottage cheese. It is closer to 70% protein. If the texture bothers you, try the full fat version: it has a few more calories, but is much better. I eat mine with sweetener (equal) and cocoa powder or cinnamon. Other people eat it with fruit or even seasoned salt.
Greek yogurt has about the same amount of protein. Regular yogurt has less protein, but still quite a bit.
I don't eat eggs and I need to eat protein with breakfast...so for me it is sometimes turkey bacon, or turkey or chicken sausages, or celery with laughing cow cheese (not sure how much protein is in those though...hmm). Sometimes I just eat the protein left over from dinner at breakfast, but I don't have a finicky stomach, so chicken for breakfast doesn't really bother me a bit.
I use the BL protein whey mix with breakfast. It's not a meal supplement, but it goes great with any meal or after any workout. It's an excellence source of protein. In each serving it has 6g protein, 6g fiber, 1 g fat, and 50 calories. Comes in several flavors, too.

I bought cottage cheese today, i have tried it before and never liked it, i think i have this notion in my head because it tastes kind of sour that it must be spoiled and i can't eat it because it tastes nasty to me but i am going to give it a try again because i know it is a great source of protein!! i hope i can get used to it and learn to like it!
I add a scoop of whey powder to 4 oz of fat free greek yogurt, add 2 packs of Splenda, and a squeeze of lemon or lime juice (and sometimes and few frozen blueberries). 130 cals, 28g protein! I make it ahead of time to give the protein powder a chance to "relax" after being stirred in ~
I also will add half a pack of splenda and tons of cinnamon to cottage cheese, which takes away the sourness.
