I'm originally from Kentucky so snow isn't really a big deal to me. I don't like driving in it but it doesn't scare me. Drive carefully. Increase your following distance. Stay out of the left lane unless you're trying to pass someone. Slower traffic keep right.
But OMG it's going to be beserk here. The last time I remember it snowing here was maybe a year or two ago and this town went nuts. Some of that I blame on the news providers - they blow it all out of proportion. That time it was really just a light dusting and it was crazy.
Now they are predicting from 1-4 inches throughout the metro area and I bet it's going to be beyond CRAZY. I kid you not, on the way in to work I saw two of the trucks that spread the deicing solution on the roads and each of them had a police escort of 4+ cars
.
Yesterday, they did rolling power blackouts without any advance notice to the public. We had no power at our district office so that staff went to the school campus and wasted half a day there before the boss told us to go home. Today we have power but the heat is on the blink again and it's below 32 degrees outside. SIGH.
Oh well everybody stay warm and if you're in the Houston area be careful on the roads. Careful of the snow, ice, and other drivers.
