I am really curious about the P90X system. I have heard many of my skinny friends complain about it being super hard. I saw a few girls on here who do it though so I am wondering how hard it really is? I am 5'3 and about 225 pounds...do you think I would be able to do it or should I wait till I lose more??

I tried it when I was at 250 and it was VERY hard for me! It still is, but it is fun. It's just really fast! I have a hard time keeping up, so I stick to running for my cardio! lol

I really like it, but it is challenging. The good thing is, they show modifications for most moves so if you can't do something, there's a way around it.

My husband does P90x and it is REALLY hard! You can modify it, but I personally choose to do other things for now since I don't feel ready for it.

You make it what you put into it. That is the beauty of the BeachBody workouts. They almost always have a modified version of the exercises. And you can take it at your own pace. Just because Tony Horton can do 100 pushups in 60 seconds doesn't mean you have to. You may only do 5 the first time you do it. You may do daisies (on your knees). You may pause the video to catch your breath.

But you keep at it and keep trying and over time you will improve. Soon you'll be doing more pushups, more situps, and maybe even a pullup nearly unassisted.

P90X is pretty advanced, but the beachbody company has many video series. Slim in 6 is a good starting point for people. I have known people who have progressed thru the various series of videos. (although that can get expensive if you buy them).

The first time I lost weight (10 yrs ago) I used TheFirm videos and they did a fabulous job. Although I don't think I could stomach watching the skinny girls and their spandex and leg warmers and the music. But their newer series are a little more modern.

I'm 5'8 and 235-240lbs..I decided to buy P90x and will be getting it around Monday..so call me crazy! lol

I know it's going to be hard but it's what you put into it, I realize I won't be looking like a bodybuilder but if i improve in the 90 days it'll be all worth it!

I like his motto of just press play and "do your best, forget the rest!" and i'll post updates and will be doing a daily blog if you're interested in following me!
