I think for me it's more diet. This is actually the first time I've used exercise as a means to lose weight...in the past, I always hated it and just dieted strictly. And there have been a few weeks this time around that I couldn't or didn't work out, but as long as I stuck to my diet, I still lost weight.
I'm friends with a couple who is doing weight watchers together. In the first month she exercised, ate well and lost about 10 lbs. He ate better than he was (not well) didn't exercise and cut out beer - lost 30 lbs. She is ready to KILL him lol.
My husband does it more with exercise than diet, and I do it more with diet than exercise.
We started weight watchers in Sept, and I've lost 75 pounds and he's lost 50. I think it depends on the person, but I don't think you can ever exercise enough to compete with bad eating habits, but you can eat enough less to lose without working out.
Yea I think in general mean can lose weight easier then females...they are just designed to be well hunters....we are designed to be soft child bearers lol
I agree with Stellarosa27. For me I happen to like to exercise. But why not get toned and firm while losing weight? It makes a big difference in how you look.

exxactly. Not only that, but the more muscle mass you have, the higher your metabolic rate will be (which means you burn more calories the more muscle you have).. Not saying you gotta be a super beefy chick, but exercising and lifting weights will do your body good.
I have also been doing alot of research on excersising without diet...and its found that if you dont change your diet and just strictly weight lift you will only build muscle under your fat making yourself apear larger

I don't know if I 100% believe that.. only because bodybuilders eat a ton to gain muscle mass. and some people, if they were not to change their diet but still to engage in weight lifting that would be enough calories burned to make a deficit in their calories consumed vs. calories spent to drop weight. I think that it would depend on how heavy they were lifting, and also what kinds of food they were consuming. So many variables, so many outcomes. lol our bodies are experiments!
