Posted this in south Beach too but I had to share it with my WLS chickies!

TVP Hot Cereal
I made my own Recipe the one on About.com is a bit too labor intensive and this is more Lazy Gourmet!
Makes 4 servings
8 oz water
1 chai black tea tea bag (I like stash)
1 cup TVP
Splenda to taste ( I didn't measure and spilled in about 1/2 cup by mistake)
1/2 cap vanilla extract

In a measuring cup Nuke water and tea bag for 2 min

Stir in splenda and vanilla

Pour over TVP let sit 10-15 min

I was finishing up a jar of PB so I had mine with 2 tbsp of PB and it had the same flavor profile of a pb cookie! and nuked for 1 minute

Tomorrow I'm goign to try it with Milk or Pro Powder

hehe, Lazy Gourmet - that's my kind of cookin'!

Is the tea simply for flavor, or is there another reason to use tea? I have never liked tea of any kind.

its mainly for the spices in the tea cinamon nutmeg the who 9 the cereal doesn't taste like tea at all more like "spice"
that being said you can spike some hot water with whatever spices you like
