Last night after dinner I felt extremely bloated beyond belief. Before dinner, I stepped on the scale just to see how my weight fluctuated throughout the day (Monday's are my weigh-in days) and it read 206.8 (up .6 from my morning weigh-in...okay, no biggie). After dinner, however, I weighed in at 214.6!!
Is it possible for my weight to increase that much after one meal????
Here's what I ate:
Scrambled eggs: 1 egg, 2 egg whites with spinach, tomatoes and LF cheese
WW toast (1) with light butter and organic strawberry spread
Side of fruit (raspberries and blueberries)
I don't have a great scale at home and readings even consecutive vary by up to 3ish lbs.
I have had a few days where I weigh like 10 times just out of curiousity as to how my weight changes throughout the day. When I do that seeing fluctuations of up to 7-8 lbs intraday is not unusual for me.
You've already solved the heart of the issue. You know you ate a healthy meal so you didn't gain gain fat. So don't stress about it.
I have seen similar fluctuations myself a few times - I weighed in the morning and then again in the evening (because I was going to the gym to have my body fat measured) and somehow, during 12 hours or so, my weight ballooned up by 7 pounds.
I wonder were that weight goes? what happened during night ?
haha, I've had this thought several times and I can't come up with an answer that doesn't gross me out.
I also saw some show recently that involved disposing of used mattresses and they say that a used mattress usually weighs like 3X what a new mattress weighs.. blech
It's good to know it's not just me. I kept thinking to myself last night "did I eat too much?" I did feel bloated after the meal but I didn't feel I overate. Perhaps I ate too fast? Hmm. Anyway, seeing the 8lb gain from earlier in the morning was really scary. I didn't step on the scale today. Haha.
Don't worry, my evening time weigh-in can be from 1-15 pounds more than my morning time weigh-in. I's this strange anomaly so I don't count it in my actual weightloss. Instead, weigh yourself in the morning, after you use the bathroom, and no clothes on. It's probably the most accurate number you can get.
That's why I never weigh in at night! It is always so much higher! My scale fluctuates a lot during the day but in the mornings no matter how many times I get on I always get the same weight.
Also, I weigh in without clothes in the morning and I've noticed that even in just pajamas it adds a few pounds which seems unreal!
