What have you done that pushed you out of your comfort zone?
Since our "diets" should always be within our "comfort zones" so we can "maintain long-term weight loss," I mean odd, random actions you've taken to ensure your success. On my end, I've hit a bit of a lull (a little loss here and there, but nothing impressive) so I'm looking for new and unique ways to get going again.
Mine started several months ago. I had five pairs of "workout" pants. I don't workout. If I do, it's WiiFit or my Fluidity bar in my long t-shirt. Otherwise, I just walk as much as humanly possible (the rule is, if it's less than 2 miles away, not raining and the "feels like" temperature is above 50, I walk).
So, why did I have these plain black workout pants?
I ran out to Wal-mart one day for some cleaning supplies. It was just a quick run, so why change out of my pants? They were plain, they were black. And I realized they had to go. I boxed up all but two pair - one for my house and one for my mom's (I always end up needing to change my pants after doing yard work over there) - and dropped them in one of the clothing recycling boxes.
When I got home, I cried. I bawled. I considered running out and buying more. Those pants had been my stand-bys, in case I "ate too much salt" [we all know what *that* means]. Getting rid of them made me very, very uncomfortable.
Now, my husband does the dirty deed for me. If he notices that I'm constantly pulling up a pair of pants, he snatches them from the laundry bin and adds them to the give-a-way bag in his car trunk. [He does this with my permission, by the way, no nefarious activities here.] All my pants fit [a loose definition, many of them are tight] and I no longer have the option of just pulling on a pair of "fat pants" if I slack off.
