Default for any vegetarians/vegans that might be lurking here:

I got this book today, vegan with a vengence. It is INCREDIBLE....the foods are simple to make, and more like everyday foods with some zest....not like, 'gourmet' going ot take a zillion years to cook and prepare. It looks absolutely amazing. I can not WAIT to try some of the recipes. Mmmm

also, I bought this book as my reward for staying on plan with exercise. I had forgotten I owed it to myself.

There's a tofu pad thai recipe in there that is SO FREAKING GOOD.

Lots of calories, though. Save that one for a treat meal. It could probably stand to be cut in half as well because it makes ALOT.

Vegan with a vengeance is my favorite book. I bought it long before being a vegetarian though. I think it is good for anyone who wants to eat more veggies.

Tofu scramble and the broccoli/chickpea casserole are 2 favorite recipes.

Other favorite books of mine are:
Veganomicon
Yellow Rose Recipes
Vegan Planet
Vegan Fire & Spice
How it all Vegan
Vegan Lunchbox (original and the international)

I have about 20 vegan cookbooks, maybe more I have a hard time picking what to cook.

I love Vegan with a Vengeance, but my favorite right now is Vegan Fire & Spice. It's so nice to have a whole cookbook where I don't have to add a ton of hot peppers to everything to suit my palate.

Oh also, I'm planning on trying to go vegan today. I've only been veggie for a little over two months but it seems to be going really well and very easy for me.

The thing is, I am able to stay within' my calories everyday, but my fat goes WAY over due to eggs and cheese and (olive oil, which I can't really cut out) so, am gonna give this a shot. today my fat is half what it was yesterday.

I'm struggling with the decision to go vegan. I don't typically eat eggs or cheese, and I can't even remember what cow's milk tastes like. My struggle is greek yogurt. I love the stuff, and I haven't been able to find a soy yogurt that strains well. I saw on fat free vegan that it's possible with home made soy yogurt, but since my massive pay cut I can't justify buying a soy milk maker and a yogurt maker thingy, particularly since I can't find soy beans at a decent price around here. They're all in small packages in the refrigerated cases for $6. How's that for odd, considering Indiana is full of soybean fields.

ETA: I agree, Fire & Spice gets additional fire and spice in my house, but nowhere near as much as most other recipes do!
