Default anybody else zigzag?

I believe in zig zagging calories to help with plateaus..I am currently using that method. I also alternate my plan a little too.

I use fast-5 ANDcalorie count--I have been doing it for so long-I CAN'T help it.

normally on fast 5 i get about 1200-1300 cs in. I hit a plateau after I lost 20 lbs...so I am alternating days eating from 2pm-7pm and then 11am -7 pm.

2pm-7 pm 1000-1200 cs
11 am -7pm 1700cs

about 1400 cs / day total for week.

has anyone else had success with zig zagging?

Congrats on finding something that's working for a plateau!
I haven't tried it yet. But that's only because until last week, I've lost 2 lbs a week pretty consistently. I can say it's going to be my "go-to" move if/when I hit a plateau.

I have a free day, similar concept and it allows me to 'eat like a person' when we go to BBQs or what not. I mean, no cake or beers, but something I wouldn't usually have like BBQ sauce on the chicken. What a treat!

Also, before the baby I plateaued hard and my dad said to add in good fats (if you aren't already) I lost 5 more pounds from eating avocado sandwiches for lunch!

I'm a zig-zagger! With both calories & I guess with exercise, too. I want this weight off as fast as safely possible and don't want my metabolism to ever tank! Plateau.. such a scary, bad, bad word. I hope what I'm doing will stop that from happening.. but I won't know until I just keep doing it.

omg, I love avocado. I mash them up and add salsa and garlic. I have been craving avocados too. I do eat goo fats. I take CLA (safflower oil), and Fish, flax, borage oil. But avocados have a antioxidant that other things do not.

I have been zig zagging too. It just makes sense to me after so many years of eating without paying attention (some days a lot of calories and some days not many calories) that if I tried to stay at one calorie level for a long time my body would go "What the heck is going on here?!?!" So far I am enjoying it because I feel like I am getting extras on my high days!! On days I am low I eat a lot of raw veggies in between meals to make up for it.

lunch lady, upping your veggies between meals on low days is a great idea!
