Default I'm feeling really good!!

For a change. I've been sick so often this winter and now that we finally have spring here. We still have tons of snow where I am but now it's starting to melt.

I've been going to the gym for four weeks now, twice a week usually and I'm feeling stronger and more fit everyday and I'm loving it. Thanks to those who encouraged me to hit the gym. It worked for sure!!

i seem to have the exercise down pat, now I need to concentrate more on the calories-in part!

I just started the Nutrition and General Health unit for a Fitness and Nutrition program I'm taking and I'm hoping it will help be get on track.

I'm glad you are feeling better, being sick is such a hinderance to what we are trying to accomplish, but you pushed through it. YAY for you!!

Hey, hey, ConfessorSiuan, what a terrific attitude! And I agree --- I am feeling better about things in general than I have for a long time, mostly because I am making some progress on my weight. (And because that exercise stuff is a really good mood elevator, or so I am told! ) Spring is here and there is hope in every breath.

What has helped me get the eating (more) under control is using an on-line calorie tracker like the Daily Plate on Living Strong --- I think there are some others on-line that people here use, too. It still takes some fiddling to figure out a fair calorie count for recipes that come out of my head, but there are a LOT of foods in their data base. I use the program to track what I am actually eating and to look at various items to see how high or low cal they are.

For me, food is the key to me succeeding or failing at losing weight, so this tool is crucial to me.

I enjoyed reading your up post!

Awesome attitude!

Chiming in on the eating- I do whole foods and count calories with those. I do most of my own cooking. I agree that Daily Plate isn't great with making your own recipes. A calorie counter that does well with recipes is DietPower. You do have to pay for the program but it has a 15 day trial first. I loooooove DietPower because it tracks all of your nutrients. Not just calories/fat. www.dietpower.com

Good luck with your eating and keep up the great work and positive attitude!

Hey, I recently started using FITDAY dot com. I was skeptical at first cause I thought it would take too much of my time to creat my own custom foods on there. BUT........since I wasnt loosing as quickly as I'd like, I thought I'd try it. And I actually LOVE it! It has helped me keep track of my calories, where before I THOUGHT I was eating too few calories, but in fact, I was eating too much! So maybe you will want to give it a try?

I'm chiming in here too. Although the pounds are really slow at coming off, my exercise and going to the gym has been great for me. I FEEL so much better, and that is a big plus. Of course I'd love to see the pounds melt away, but just feeling stronger is good.
