Default to work out every other day?

i know i know muscles need to rest and recover otherwise i will lose muscles tone. But what about cardio? cardio also involves great amout of leg muscles... i also do 3 mins walking (3.7 mph) and then 1min running (5mph) and do this pattern till i get to my 3.1 miles - every day. Will that be consider cardio? and what about leg muscles rest?

The sort of exercise that causes muscle damage that must be repaired (through rest) is short-term movement...things you can do for maybe 15 or fewer repetitions before having to take a break. While you're using your leg muscles running, you aren't using them in that kind of way, so resting between cardio days isn't necessary.

thats a very good news! so we can walk/run every day? because its very awesome news to me! i am literally HOOKED on that. Waiting 12 hours till i go to the gym is like a tortore to me I am so glad i can do all that cardio stuff every day thank you.

I run every other day, but that's just cause I'm still a beginner (on my last month of a 4 month 10k training program). But I know a lot of regular runners who go 4-6 days a week because they're bodies are used to it I guess.
