Default mashed potatoes?

I need to find what the calories would be in 1 cup mashed potatoes with out any milk or butter in it. I have looked ata couple sites but I cant not sure if they are talking about plain mashed potatoes. I always eat 1 cup potatoes with 2 cups broiled veggies. I figure dipping in potatoes is better than drowning in cheese...lol

Do you have a scale? You could always try to weigh it.

I'd probably just do a best guess. 1/2 cup of potatoes is 68 calories but I'm guessing they are going by loose chunks not smushed/mashed? 150 would probably be a decent estimate.

Or calculate by how many potatoes you used to make the mashed potatoes and divide. A medium potato (according to daily plate) has 164 calories in it. So if you just cut one potato up and boil it and mash it and eat the whole thing, that'd be 164.

I also calculate by how many potatoes I'm eating. Or you could divide, if you are using 6 potatoes, and you are eating half then however much 3 potatoes is.

Im making potatoes for the whole family the bag is pretty mixed as far as sizes go so trying to figure out by the cup would be much easier. I can scoop out my cup, then add my own butter and skim milk to count before I add it in the family portion
