Angry Crashed my car.. feelin crappy

So yesterday i pretty much totaled my 2008 Subaru Impreza.. I took out 1000 ft of guardrail. I just went over the yellow line for a second snagged the guardrail and couldnt get off it it.. It looks terrible, it ripped off the tire and smashed my drivers side window... And to top it all off, the keychain with the barcode to get me into the gym is on the keys i gave the towing company...
I had myself, my 4 year old son and my boston terrier in the car. Everyone is ok (except the car..) I just feel terrible right now.. Normally right now i would go to the gym to try and get my mind off it but i cant.. I just feel like i want to crawl in a hole and hide for a while.. To top it off, My husband totaled his 2008 Subaru WRX last month! Ugh.. this is NOT my year!

Thank God you guys are alright!! I'm sure you already know that, but totalling a car SUCKS no matter how it happens. Just thinking about it makes me shaky. I totaled a car when I was a teenager doing something similar except I DID get hurt, but I was still pretty damn lucky. Is there anyway maybe your DH or someone can swing by the towing company to pick up your keychain?

What a rough start to the year! Look at it this way-maybe you've gotten all the bad luck out of the way and the rest of '09 will be cake

I'm so sorry to hear... but all of you made it out okay so that is something in itself that is absolutely priceless.

I agree with junebug, have your hubby pick up your gym pass, relax today with a book and some herbal tea (or whatever calms your nerves), have a shot of whiskey, and take on the rest of 2009 with a warrior spirit!

Aw I'm so glad everyone is ok. It could've been so much worse. Don't worry about the gym today, just get your thoughts together, spend time with your family, and try to remember that it was just an accident and everyone is fine. You can always get another car or fix that one.

I completely understand how you feel though....last year starting in march, i totalled my 2002 neon, in June my brother was in a hit and run and had his saturn totalled (thankfully the driver was caught), august my entire family and my boyfriend got hit head on by a drunk driver, and then my mom in nov was hit by 2 deer.

I don't know why things seem to happen like that dumb luck or what, but they happen. We are all fine, we all have new cars, and it seems the streak it over. It will probably be scary for a little while just thinking about it, but what my boyfriend reminded me over and over until it stuck was " You didn't mean to hit that car, everyone was fine, and it was just an accident. You can't live day to day dwelling on something that was an accident." It took a week of telling me that, but I finally let it past me.

:hugs:

Aw, that sucks. I'm sorry you are having such bad luck. I got a new car a couple weeks ago and the very next day I took it to work and someone crashed into it in the parking lot and drove off. Cost my insurance $1300 to fix, which meant I had to pay $500 toward the deductable, plus I was without a car for a week. Anyway, just wanted to let you know you aren't alone. I'm glad you are okay, and I hope some good stuff happens to you to make up for it.

It is small comfort to you now but it is only a car. That can be replaced. Your child and yourself (as well as doggy) are okay. You and your family are far more important. Good things are coming your way. Just believe.

Our car was totaled this past Christmas Eve thanks to a patch of black ice, a ravine and a patch of trees. None of us were hurt either, but it sure hurts psychologically--my motivation for wanting to crawl in that hole is I don't trust vehicles anymore. I'm frightened every time the bus rolls over some snow on the side of the road.

I second herbal teas and bubble baths, especially if the airbags deployed and left some bruises.

That sucks!!! Glad you're ok though. Maybe you explain to the gym people what happened and they could let you in?
