started french classes this evening and it was a lot of fun

wrapped up a birthday present elaborately and emailed a picture of it to the recipient, who's going to get it tomorrow when i go to visit for the weekend

got offered a short-term job that will earn me some money and allow me to take an official 2-3 month break from my PhD - which really means 2-3 months extra time to get more data and write up!

hey thanks for this thread, it took a little thinking but i realised those are three really nice things this week!

Good thread innit?

I hope others soon contribute. I was on a course when this question was asked and it is sad to think we really have to think hard before replying!!

Well done Amy re the presentation. Too often we get in a stew about something then find it went ok after all!

Good luck with the French class Froggie!

I'm fine, I'm fine. We bought a house!!! I'm still working at the same old place, still training (I'm a black belt & teach 2 classes now), training for 2nd Dan black belt. Still lifting weights like a good un.

Unfortunately last year was a nightmare with buying the house. I'm NEVER moving again! I put on a little bit of house weight - nothing serious but I'm working hard to get it back off again and feeling a little demotivated - I think I forgot how to do it, so I thought I'd check back here to say hello!

1) I was complimented by a man at the gym on how well I had done on the cross-trainer - he said that not many people can last as long or go at that pace on that machine so good on me!

2) I've spent a lot of quality time with friends and family in the past week (downside of that was that a lot of it was spent eating too much in restaurants, LOL!!)

3) I got a lovely home-made Valentine's day card from my 5 year old niece! Someone loves me!

I got offered a new job on the on the day I interviewed for it.
Two women complimented me on my hair yesterday.
I went to see a band I know and they dedicated a song to me.
Pretty great week overall, AND I lost 4lb

This is gonna be a toughie I think as I'm a tad poorly but here goes:

1. Lost another 3lbs last week, bringing my total to 16lbs
2. Went out for a meal with my fella for Valentines day and had a promising discussion about the 'future'.
3. Had our 6 month inspection by our agent and haven't been evicted as yet, lets hope no news is good news!

Haha, sorry Peacock! If it helps I have plenty of weeks where nothing half that good ever happens, but having so much to smile about this week is taking the pain out of my crisp deprivation.

Ooh sorry I did not realise your pain (feeling it too)- two reasons I should never even look at a packet of crisps - my weight and my blood pressure!

Well I glad you ladies were able to think of 3 good things. Sometimes it is hard but I think when we get down it helps to think like this.

Hmmm....

1) Had a lovely valentines day with my boyfriend
2) Became member of local leisure centre so that I can go swimming, gyming and to any classes I want without having to worry if I have enough money on me!
3) Have annual leave this week so am only at work one day (that's the best one!)
