Default LOST 10 lbs question

Ok, I've lost 10 lbs averaging around 1800 cals a day and working out 6 days a week in the past month.

starting weight=1800 cals a day to lose 2 lbs a week.

now according to Freedieting.com's calculator I should be eating 1700 cals a day, Is this correct? Should I drop it to that now that I've lost 10 lbs?

if you are still losing 2 pounds per week with your current calorie level and exercise then i would stay at that point. you may find as you lose weight that the losses stall out. then you need to adjust your calories down but your body will tell you when that is necessary.

you'll need to keep lowering your calories as you get closer to your goal weight so you don't want to start lowering before it is necessary so you don't drop into a calorie deprivation state where your body thinks you're starving it!

Oh, and on the 10 pounds!!!

Are you still losing weight? If you are, I'd stick with the 1800 until your weight loss slows down or stalls.

My philosophy is simple. I will eat the most calories I can to achieve weight loss. This makes it easier to get a proper nutritionally balanced diet, as well as giving me somewhere to go when my weight loss stalls. Will hopefully make maintenance easier too - I won't have to be quite so strict.

I agree - keep doing what you're doing until it stalls.

I calculated your BMR on a website I use regularly and you burn 1800 calories a day just if you were to lay on the couch all day with no activity:
http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-calculator/

If you multiple that 1800 times 1.55 (the equation for a moderately active person) - you burn about 2,790 calories a day.
http://www.bmi-calculator.net/bmr-ca...dict-equation/

Deduct 1,000 calories from 2,790 cals. a day to lose two pounds per week and voila! 1,800! Perfect :-)

When you lose more, you can refer to the sites to re-calculate.

Congrats on your 10 pounds - great job!!!
