Well I must say that has happened to me more than once, I get so upset, but the only thing you can do is put the past in the past and start fresh again, the 6 pounds u recently gained will leave quicker than they did the first time....good luck and keep going!! You can do it!!

I don't think it is possible to gain that much weight in such a short time. So a good part of that is fluid retention. Be encouraged that you can lose it if you go back to a healthy diet and get some exercise. Good luck!

Why can't you take food to your boyfriends and prepare what you want? Don't get down, it's doubtful you gained 6 lbs of fat, most of it is probably water (since offplan food tends to be saltier).

Look at as a learning opportunity - these little blips happen all the time in one's life, how will you cope differently/more effectively the next time?

Yeah, it's probably mostly fluids. My old WW leader used to say that when it was "fresh" like that, it's still "fluffy"- it's not settled in hardcore weight. Just get back on track and you'll be fine!

I agree with everyone else, it's probably mostly fluid weight. It happens to all of us every now and then....I have had days (or weeks) where I've gone off plan and gained a few pounds from it. But you can always just get back on track and keep losing. One thing I love about my WW plan is that every day is a new day, and mistakes made yesterday have no effect on the food choices I make today. Hang in there!! :-) You can do it!

Please don't let that setback derail you - those pounds will come off again in no time, probably quicker than they did before. Just look ahead and not let this pull you off course.

Here's my mantra again: REmember that it takes 3,500 calories to gain 1 lb of fat. To gain 6lbs in 5 days, you'd have had to eat 21,000 calories above and beyond your regular maintenance cals. At 154 lbs, your maintenance cals are probably right around 2000 a day, so that means in a 5 day period you'd have had to eat a grand total of 31,000 calories, or over 6,000 calories per day.

Do you think you ate that much? I suspect you didn't.

I do suspect that what you did was eat a lot of salty foods, a lot of things that aren't on your regular healthy eating plan, and a lot of fatty things ... all of which are causing you to bloat and retain water.

I'll bet you that if you spend a couple of days drinking water and eating right, you'll lose at least 1/2 to 2/3 of that in one big "whoosh" of water-weight.

Now that you're not panicking about weight you didn't really gain here ... ... think about what happened. It's very likely that you'll be staying with your boyfriend again, right? So you (and he) need to come up with a plan so that you can continue to eat healthily while you're with him. If he's a supportive boyfriend, then he'll help you with this.

Good luck ... I know you'll be fine!

.
