Default Something neat

So the boy and I had a busy day and didn't feel like cooking.

He suggested Wendy's so I went to their site and looked up what would be a good option.

Wendy's has the best website for fast food I have ever seen. I could personalize my meal (with cheese....without cheese etc) and they would recalculate the calories for you.

I just wanted to share. I don't really catch fast food very often but I thought that site was very helpful and kind to dieters.

Very cool, thanks!

(much better to plan than stare at the menu figuring out what you SHOULD have, then getting something else!!)

The fast food places have gotten a lot better about showing nutrition info. (And I think Wendy's has some pretty decent options for fast food.)

I am really proud of myself for visiting their site and figuring out my options...and believe it or not I still has 183 calories left for the day and even had a skinny cow ice cream bar.

I know it wasn't the most "healthiest" day but it really made me feel like I am getting this lifestyle thing down. I don't have to feel guilty about eating wendy's and I do have to make the right choices.

I have a silly question, what does OP mean? I keep seeing it, but am confused. Thanks!

I always figured OP was "On Plan". Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong.

That's a great tip about the Wendy's site. I checked it out just in case I didn't really have any other choice but take-out, so I now have a predetermined food choice in mind for any emergency meals. Large chili with side salad and fat-free french.

It even sounds good!

I'm not sure if you've ever been to Moe's Southwestern Food (I think they might be a southeastern chain only), but they do a similar thing with their website. The only thing that annoys me is that when you go to sit-down chains like IHOP and they only list it for the certain items, but not the whole menu. Either that or they lie about how many calories/fat an item has.

I've used the McDonald's and Wendy's meal builder a lot. I think McDonald's is a little harder to find on their site, but it's really good too. It's really nice to know exactly what you're getting when you eat out, especially someplace that you know has a ton of "bad"-for-you foods.

I am a huge taco bell fan normally but have given it up so far until I reach a weight loss that I am comfortable with. Anyway, most fast food does this now, you may just have to look a little on their site as mentioned. Taco bell has this menu building option too and I plan to use it!

I love taco bell and surprisingly they have more choices with less calories then a lot of fast food places. 2 spicy chicken soft tacos only 300 cals and a cinnamon twist 170 cals. (cinnamon not so great but not horrible for being deep fried sugar) 1 soft taco no sour cream is 200 cals... mmm sounds so yummy

That's really cool! I actually went to Wendy's last night. I had a taco salad, but just the salad (with the cheese) and the chili. According to the website, it is only 400 calories. Whoo hoo!!

Haha, your post is tempting me. At least there are lower fat options right?
