Default 4383 STEPS? Holy pedometer Batman!

Ok, I'm officailly comfortable here...the silliness has come out.

Yesterday, I went to see the surgeon's dietitian and took the "what to expect after surgery" class and they gave me a pedometer! I have always threaten to buy myself one. Well, today I put it on and I went for my walk and I found out the not only did I take 4383 steps, I walked nearly 2 miles in 40 minutes...Woohoo!

I took the IPOD shuffle with me and was dancing as I walked down the road...I guess it was funny because a guy honked at me...and of course, I turned to see why and slipped in the ICE! hehehe The only thing hurt was my pride so I got up and danced away!

Ok, silliness over...for now.

Thumbs up Yeah Pedometers

LOL at being silly, missangelaks,

Welcome to the secret pedometer society. It will get worse - you will learn to spot other people who are wearing pedometers and chat as if you know each other. Be prepared.

Angry Pedometers don't work for me!

Ok, everyone here seems to be able to get a pedometer to work fine. I have tried several and the only one that has been close to working for me was one I bought from WW about 5 years ago (& I don't know what happened to it).

Can someone make some recommendations as to the brand, type, where to wear it, etc. that might help me. I would love to have one work.

not sure of brands...but they told me to wear it on my side at the waist and not in the front so far it works fabulously. The nurse said that if you wear it in front, it doesn't work because of the angle.

yesterday, I had 8,100 steps! my goal is 10,000 in a day

and Nanj...the bottom half was walkling hard to the beat and the top half was swingin' and keepin' time! LOL

Thumbs up Pointer to Pedometer Recommendations

Hi loodie,

This thread had several brands recommended, including links to Amazon throught the 3FC store:

I was thinking under $75 dollars at the most. I'm not too sure what is considered expensive for a pedometer? Any suggestions? Someone suggested to me that I buy one and then make a "game" out of it to see how close I can get to 10,000 steps a day.

Thanks,
Brit
I wear my Omron HJ-105 clipped to my belt on the right side. The newer models claim that you can carry them in a pocket or purse. I get repeatable, good accuracy after I adjust it once.

Good luck.

I have yet to find a pedometer that works accurately!
I got a brand new gym-quality treadmill for Christmas, so I am looking forward to getting over this cold and getting on it!! A pedometer would be great. Let us know if anyone finds a GOOD one!
