Anyone planning on doing any exercising on Christmas day? I am going to try and get a nice walk in before we leave for my moms. Whether that is an outside walk or a tape walk remains to be seen. But I am going to try and get something in. What about everyone else?
Most of our Christmas happens today and tonight. I am sure aAngie and I will get a long walk in with the dogs. We just finished a 3.5 Starbucks walk with them.
I usually run before breakfast - just a quick 3 miles or so, but as I´m usually up before my parents it doesn´t eat into the family part of the day. But, this year we´re going on a whale and dolphin watching trip at 10am, and we need to leave at 9 to get down to the port so I´m not sure whether I´ll be able to squeeze it in. I´d like to, because it´s nice to run along saying happy christmas to everyone, and it gives me a perfect excuse to treat myself for the rest of the day but if not, I´m not too worried as I´ve exercised well in the past week, and a day off won´t kill me.
My gift to myself will be to get my bu!! on the treadmill and do some w/l tomorrow. I'm making the dinner so I can control it. But we'll still have ham, our holiday favorite, and green beans, mashed potatoes, rolls, all homemade.
I ate fairly lightly on Christmas, at least for a holiday (only 100 calories over my normal target). Then while my mom and I watched a movie at night, I did some light weights/resistance training. Probably burned that 100!
No exercise for me. My gym was closed all day, as was the pool where I swim, and I've injured my knee so running is out of the question at the moment. If I could have thought of something I could do at home that didn't require a video (I have none), special equipment (again, don't own any--that's why I have a gym membership), or impact to my knee, I would have done it. But it was probably good for me to take a day off anyway.
Barbara - I totally agree with you. Even though I'm a strict calorie counter and log everything into Daily Plate, there are some things that don't really make sense to log (extra walking around the city that isn't really quantifiable, or a few light stretches while watching television). But I know my body will notice them anyway! Any exercise is good exercise
