DH and I have 1 dog, from a rescue and 1 cat from a shelter. We had been thinking for a while about getting another cat and our hopes are that the 2 cats will be friends although we know there are no guarantees. Our first cat does come first so we were both a little concerned about the what-ifs regarding a new cat.
Anyway, we were at Petsmart during a pet adoption event. Last week, I had spotted a sweet Siamese cat and I saw her again this week. After some discussion, we decided to adopt her. She is so sweet, a total lap kitty and very loving.
We are naming her Emma. Emma has been pregnant at least twice. She and 2 of her kittens were given up to the rescue by a family that had a household of dogs and cats. She was pregnant at the time that she was given up but it was found that she had a uterine infection and her kittens were dead. She was living with her foster mom who had cats from the time of her being given up by her family.
Unfortunately, I don't have pictures as of yet but I hope to find my camera and post pictures of all my furbabies. She is actually what they call a snowshoe but she looks like a siamese to me except that she has little white paws.
Anyway, I hope I can make Emma's life a good one and hope that she fits in well with our family. She has met both the dog and cat. Our cat has voiced her displeasure but I think that is perfectly normal. We are keeping Emma in a room by herself but visiting and taking her to other closed rooms to get her used to the house. I even took a nap with her on the bed already and she is just the sweetest thing
