Never been this happy!
Last night, i met a friend that i havent seen since university ended and she was like "omg you have lost loads of weight" and she was calling me skinny and everything... everyone that i havent seen since june have really noticed the loss. i didnt think there was that much of a difference to what i was in may... 7 pounds... but there you go.. looking forward to seeing the rest of my friends now... yay! Im also have a good hair week which is very rare
That's awesome. It's always nice when people notice you've lost weight or that you look different than the last time they saw you. Hopefully different in a good way, lol.
My friends notice differences...my parents are another story. That's one thing that always frustrated me, my mom couldn't tell the difference in weight ever! It was really funny because I few years back we did WW for a summer, and the group leader showed us her before pictures. It went something like this.
Group leader: See this is me before I lost 50lbs through WW.
Me: Wow..
Mom: Wow...really? See I just don't see a difference...
Group leader - looks vaguely insulted.
Mom: No! I mean- I can see - its obviouse you've lost weight. I just don't see a problem with how you look there.
Conversation dwindles to an akward silence.
My mom didn't mean to insult her, or imply she still looked fat, she could see a difference, but to her the leader looked just as good with 50 exra lbs as she did there...
Guess it's a positive and negative, my mom isn't shallow at all, but she isn't very observant either.
Still pretty funny.
Cats tongue, I kind of like your Mom's attitude--it sounds as though she doesn't judge how people look on the basis of how big or small they are. She thought the WW woman looked OK in both photos.
That's nicer, in a way, than the people who imply you look SO MUCH BETTER now... huh...
Congrats. And a good hair week, lucky. I can't even get a good hair hour.
Also gotta say I agree with JayEll. While it is nice when people notice your weightloss it is a little frustrating and hurtful when they go on and on and on on how much better you look.
Congrats! I can't wait for my parents to see me at Christmas - that will be my veriosn of what you are going through right now!
Yeah, I did that. I had sent pictures, but in person is a bit different. So mom is standing in the baggage claim looking all over. Dad finally recognized me as I stood off to the side laughing and wondering how long it would take them to pick me out of the people. Not even a large crowd. But they hadn't seen me in a couple of years, and I'd lost over 90 pounds since they'd last seen me. The look on people's faces is priceless.
Hello,
I'm Phyl and this is my first post, I'm in Az and it is late but I wanted to get a start. i have 40 pounds to lose and I will still be heavy for my 5' frame but that is my goal. I am 175 and i want to be 135. I don't care if it takes a year I want to be able to keep it off. I've lost as much as 50 pounds at least twice but it finds me again. Here we go!!!!!
