Question Another question - this time about calories

Everyone will be sick of me soon!

Although I had said I would wait, I started Wave One yesterday. I'm used to tracking my calories on FitDay so I kept doing that (even though there's no "requirement" to do so for Sonoma). I only ate 883 calories! That's not enough, expecially not sustained for 10 days. I followed the recommended portion sizes, but I think I will increase things somewhat today. I don't want to drop too low. I plan on getting some nuts for an added snack, I didn't snack yesterday because I wasn't that hungry, but I'm not planning on staying under 1000 cals for 10 days.

Others' experience? I'm not so much looking for advice, since I know how to fix it, just wondering what everyone else has found with this.

Jax

I'm not using Fitday or any other calorie tracker. I'm trying to learn her portion control method since I can get obsessive with this. I think her goal for Wave 1 is somewhere in the 1000-1200 range though.

I don't count calories, so I'm not really of any help. Actually, even though I feel like I'm eating Sonoma approved foods, I'm sure I'm getting WAY too many calories. I LOVE to eat.

Maybe you should up your portion size and that would help. Also, once you add in your snacks, I bet you'll get to 1000 calories no problem.

Thanks! I feel a little better about it now, today's came in at around 1100. I don't want to go too low and have no energy! But since I like the premise of the Sonoma diet I do want to give it a good try. I'm mostly very low on carbohydrate, despite the huge amount of veggies I'm eating. But high in fibre (which is good). Farmer's markets are a great resource. Not that that's something different for me, but it's going to be harder come winter.

I think it was eating fish for both lunch (tuna salad) and dinner (grilled salmon) yesterday vs. pork chops (grilled) tonight that affected my calories so much. Not planned that way but it happened. I was losing at 1300-1500 but eating quite a bit of fruit, which I'm of course not now, so that's where I see the primary difference.

Thanks for the encouragement everyone,

Jax

I don't count calories, either. If I'm hungry, I have a snack, but otherwise I just stick to the recommended portions.
