Default Heat and weight jump related?

Here in PA we are experiencing a bit of a very humid heat wave. My weight has also jumped up about 2 lbs within as many days, even though I've stayed within my calorie limit. I know I don't drink enough water. Could I be retaining extra water just because of the heat? It's so frustrating to me to be almost where I was at the beginning of the month. It makes me want to give up.
I appreciate your help.

Don't know if it's true for everybody, but I definitely retain water when it's hot and humid.

So will drinking lots of water get rid of the extra weight or do I have to wait until the weather cools down?

I live in southern MS where it is always hot and humid. If I go a couple of days without getting my water in, my ankles will swell due to water retention.
If you body is not getting enough water it will hang on to what it has. It may not cool down for several weeks or months so I would try extra water to see if that helps.

When it is hot and humid, you tend to lose more water from breathing and sweating, even if you don't feel really sweaty. The result is that salt inside your tissues gets more concentrated, and in an effort to keep things normal, your body retains water. So, even though it sounds contrary, you need to drink more water when it's hot to help flush out the salts through your kidneys and thus the excess water in the tissues.

Don't wait to drink water. Drink it now.

I agree with the above posters. I think the humidity is the biggest culprit because I live in the desert where it is defintitely hot. I don't gain weight/swell up at home but as soon as I go somewhere humid, I blow up like a balloon.

Drink water! Do-not-give-up.

so much about losing weight is counter-intuitive.

who in the world ever figured out that in order to not retain water you need to drink more?

Brilliant....

Oh yeah, I've noticed the heat has definitely been making me retain. My weight will fluctuate as much as eight pounds in one day with this crazy humidity.

Drink more water. It will not only help you lose weight in this heat, but it will also make you feel better and keep you healthy. I forgot to drink water a couple days ago and almost fainted... it was scary.
