I Am On Phase 2 And Somewhat At A Stand Still With Pounds Lost.
However The Inches May Be Coming Off. At Any Rate How Do You Find Out How Many Calories Per Day I Am Suppose To Eat In Order To Get Those Pounds Off? Any Insight Ladies?

bodyweight X 12 = calories per day ...to lose weight.
X 15 or 16 to maintain it.

That calculation seems a bit high Monsterjoe- I did for me and that would allow me 2300 calories to lose weight- not happening, I would gain weight. For me I try to get calories between 1200 and 1400 and as long as I am exercising I will pull atleast a 1/2 weight loss for the week. But that is for my slow metabolism.

You're right. I mixed up my numbers O.o

bwX9 = calories per day.

11-12 to maintain

15-16 to gain.

YMMV of course and these numbers assume regular moderate exercise.

at 6'6" I would cease to function on 1200 calories a day

Just a guess, but at 6'6 you're male. You carry more muscle than most women.

OK...where did you find this equation? I weigh 229 and that would mean I could eat 2,061 calories a day and lose weight!

I eat between 1,200-1,500 to lose...

The question itself is not specific enough to get accurate results. To be accurate, you have to account for age, height, weight, activity level...and even then, everyone's bodies are so different that a concrete answer remains elusive.

My equation came from research via google that was corroborated with the math I did on own weight stats.

I'm not sure what the comment above about muscle had to do with it, but maybe there's something there.

Interestingly enough, when rechecking my data just now I came across a thread on this site that revisits both sides of the convo here.

Hi,

I asked the same question on the 100lb forum. Here's a link.

I havent yet started to track my calories, however, I will do so when I hit a plateau. How long have you been on Phase 2? How many whole grain items and fruits are you up to per day?
