Question What does it taste like?

I was wondering what black tea tastes like before I but it/ And what does Kale taste like?
Trying to follow superfoods but am not real adventuriest(?) when it comes to new foods. Any feed back would be great.

Honestly, both are pretty inexpensive. I'd try them.

There are many many varieties of black tea so it is hard to describe one of them.

Kale is one of my favorite greens. I like it better than spinach. I would recommend lightly sauteeing it with a little olive oil and garlic until it wilts. It is delicious. It tastes like a green though, if you have ever had any greens it would taste similar.

Good old fashioned Lipton tea (from a tea bag) is a black tea. I'm sure you've probably had it at one time or another. I actually prefer other black teas. Stash makes some that are good (and you can usually buy a sampler at the grocery store that has several blacks and a couple greens in it). I like Irish Breakfast the very best and English Breakfast second to that.

I've not tried kale, so I can't help there.

An other whole food that I've tried and really like is spelt. I'm still working up the courage to try quinoa. I'm not overly fond of couscous, so I haven't done that since I started this whole foods thing.

I like Tetley's British Blend tea (also a black tea) which is in round bags. I bought some Lipton Black Tea in a cute little pyramid bag but I don't like it as well. My DH likes it better, however.

Now kale, I don't care much for, even though I like most greens. We grow our own spinach and swiss chard so I go nuts for greens all summer. I froze some, but don't like them as well as the fresh.

So my advice is to get a little and try. You never know what you're going to like.

I love kale. I'm newly pregnant and find that I've been craving it a lot for some reason. I steam it for about five minutes, then put it in a big bowl, drizzle a little olive oil over it, some sesame seeds & a few squirts of Braggs Liquid Amino Acids (salty) and then chop it all up. I don't even know how to describe the taste... but I like it!

I love Tazo teas, I drink both the green tea and the black tea, they call it AWAKE and it comes in a red package. They are a bit pricier than some other teas, but I think they are worth it.

Kale is so awesome!! Try putting it in a veggie soup. Also super-duper nutritious!

Kale is quite good, but I personally found it to be a stronger tasting green than spinach. Not bad stronger, but just stronger. I've sauted it with some olive oil, garlic and pine nuts and it's been quite good. I've also made it in a recipe with kale, potstickers, turkey kielbasa and sauerkraut!

I thought kale tasted a bit like licorice when I tried it? Maybe I'm crazy but it had that anise sort of flavor to it. Not overpowering or anything, in fact it was delicious. Am I the only one who noticed that?

I just started eating kale this year regularly. I make mine exactly like Petiteweb...chopped with olive oil, garlic, sesame seeds, & a squirt or two of Bragg's Amino Acids (kind of like soy sauce with more health benefits I guess). I'll throw spinach and this summer when I grew chard & various greens I threw them all in there. I can't say it's my very favorite thing but I like it and it's really good for you.
Petiteweb--it's great that you're craving it.

Here's a site I found with health info about kale...
