Hi just an idea about starting a fit bit thread so we can eather add each other via facebook or the fitbit site & on here we could post how many steps weve done each day to help & keep the motorvation flowing.

I wonder would the easiest way to connect without posting email addresses be to link to our "public profile" URL, which you can get from your Fitbit profile page on the website? I do not yet have the fit bit, however want it & recently mentioned it to my husband. I do have a walking app on my cellphone though. In the meantime, I'm just hanging in here.

Just started using Fitbit Charge HR. Do most of you sync with MFP instead of using food tracker on Fitbit? It says that you enter food and exercise thru MFP then is that what you do?

I just posted this on the fitbit Challenge post but thought I'd post it here in case the info is helpful to someone:

If you're using a fitbit and want to sync with a tracking app, there's a 3rd party site I'd read about and have used successfully. The site is Fitmess - the url is http://fitmess.herokuapp.com/

I had been using a food tracking site for a couple years before I got my fitbit and I didn't want to give up my history just to have something that automatically syncs. I'm not sure which food websites Fitmess supports. It automatically syncs periodically. I've had a couple times where the sync just didn't work but it's only been 2 or 3 total days since Feb 2015.

I think you have to have either a facebook or a google account to sign up.

The details of the food data don't transfer to the fitbit - just the total calories consumed that day. Same for fitbit data to the food app - just the total calories burned is what syncs.

Hi Amy, most people that have a Fitbit use the food dashboard on Fitbit because it counts & deducts your activity & steps telling you what you have used, remaing, etc. There is also a challenge tab to use on your Fitbit app & at Fitbit.com when you're signed into your account, I have my Fitbit app synced on my phone & Kindle for everything. I like the recipes on MFP & the extra workouts, but I rely on the Fitbit app to show the calories I daily burn by entering my food on the Fitbit dashboard. Go check out the thread below. The girls there are Fitbit user's & very nice & are also helpful & we'd love you to join us I've been using a Fitbit Charge since October & some have a Charge HR or a Flex, it's fun.
