tech update
 

Hi everyone,

I just wanted to give you a summary of where we are at. As of Friday various IB sites were subject to a vicious cyber attack. We’ve been working hard to mitigate the problem. We didn’t post in 3FC on Friday because 3FC appeared to be unaffected and we didn’t want to alarm the community if it wasn’t necessary. . Please continue to report any problems that you experience yourself as well those brought to you by other community members. You can report them by replying to this thread.

Steph, thanks for posting this. We MODs have been barraged with queries.

I apologize for the delay. It has been madness here. thank you for your patience!

Would have posted but I couldn't get the web site to open,I was down a day and a half, all day Friday and about half a day Saturday and even today it has been down briefly a few times.

Access was much better today but I did have intermittent problems. I got the "server taking too long" message several times but would wait a few minutes and then could access the site.

It would be fabulous if there was a twitter or something where these things could still be announced even when the site is down. I actually found a twitter but it hadn't been updated since I think 2008 or something.

There is still the problem of not being notified of posts.
This is not just me but others on our threads. Just wanted you to be aware.

when I clck on new posts, it won't load them...

All yesterday I was unable to reply to posts. It would just time out. I even tried sending a private msg to IBsteph and an email via the contact us page but nothing worked.

Thankfully, it's working now. Not sure if anyone else has periodically run into this issue but just wanted to give you guys the heads up.

I had a lot of trouble throughout the day replying to posts.

Ok i know we are still seeing some stability issues so i will tech know

Also it's not *THAT* big of a deal, but when I sign in it says you have used 1 out of 5 attempts to log in, but when I am on the front page I am signed in and I can reply to posts. Then sometimes it says thanks for logging in and then when I get to the front page it shows I am not logged in until I click on a sub-forum.

I have not been able to post pictures tongiht...click on manage attachments and nothing happens...also not able to get the bigger page of icons...

And there still is no way to edit on most newer threads. Thanks.

Hlmmm, that message did give me an edit button, maybe it's fixed?

I can post pictures now but still can't get the bigger page of icons to come up.

There were a lot of timeouts late Tuesday night, around 11:45 pm Pacific time. The site was slow and sluggish for at least several minutes before that, then became basically unreachable for about 30 minutes; I'm just now getting back on. For quite awhile, I was unable to even get a ping on the site.

I hope this stuff is fixed soon. People are going to start trying to find a less frustrating place to read and post.

I know and I am sorry. We have had some slowness issues-

Yeah, I keep trying to post that I'm getting "server too busy" as well. I'm not sure what it's busy doing, because it's sure not busy allowing any of my posts to go through.

Well, after 6 hours of not being able to get into a thread, I finally get the chance to concur with the "Server to Busy" stuff.

Okay tomorrow is a Holiday...this going "too busy server" thing gonna be on going for DAYS!

I hope it's fixed soon.

I hope they get if fixed, I'm motivated now after watching BL special tonight, lol.

Chances are nobody knows that we are posting this because the server is too busy for them to read this thread!

Thanksgiving eve: server too busy, try later. Just when I need it. I wrote an entire comment and it erased it. grrrr

This is really annoying.

I have a really hard time believing the "server is too busy" on Thanksgiving morning. This stuff is starting to get really annoying.

Agreed. I have been getting Server is too busy over and over again yesterday and today. I can't even manage to post hardly anything!

Over and over again. It easily takes me several refreshes to get through. And at times, it'll load one page but not another. XD

same here with server too busy. Roughly 4 out of 5 attempts to get to a thread or anywhere on the forum results in "server too busy"
