All of a sudden I'm getting these pop up type of things out of the middle of nowhere. My screen can be sitting for a few minutes and then suddenly, instead of seeing page here it's like I've been taken to another website- diets sites. Is this just me? If not, then that is okay. But if it's just me, I need to tell my husband about it so he can see what is going on.
Me either It sounds like you might have some kind of ad-ware installed. This type of program is not installed on purpose by you, but comes either hidden in another program you installed, or it comes hidden in audio or video files, and even can be installed via a "drive-by install" which means you visited a website that infected your computer. There are lots of ways it can happen.
If anyone else is experiencing this, please let us know, and please let us know the url of the site you are redirected to and we'll have tech support check it out.
I was also getting weird popups even when I have no web pages open. The browser on the top of the popup does quickly say "3fatchicks.com" then redirects to the adware site. My adaware software removed it though.
I've noticed that the past few days, something has changed about the ads. I used to have a habit of clicking over to the far right of my screen so that I can use the mouse wheel to scroll down, but now whenever I do that (even if it doesn't look like I'm clicking on an ad), I get redirected to a diet website. Right now, I see a nutrisystem ad at the top right of the screen but if I click *anywhere* along the right margin, even if I slightly miss the scroll bar, I will be taken to Nutrisystem's site. Very annoying indeed. I've only noticed this the past couple of days.

Actually this thing I did notice. It isn't actually a pop up exactly just takes you to the site you clicked on. If you put your mouse in the right margin and just move it up and down the page the cursor will change from an arrow to a hand indicating the beginning or end of the advertisement link. It is very annoying though since the ad has no edges around it and is white just like the rest of the page. It's not just a nutrisystem site it's others too if you refresh the page or go to another page in 3FC's the ad changes to something different.
There's one that says "Drop 25 pounds in 30 days. Fastest weight loss guarenteed! As seen on CBS News" and at the bottom of that in small print it says www.ProjectWeightLoss.com. If you click on it it takes you to this address: http://my-healthy-weight-loss.org/?t...FRJM5QodihRsAg
If you click on it, beware you will need to completely end Internet explorer using task manager to get out of it, the back button and (X) to close the window won't work, the ad won't let you leave. Very annoying hope this can get fixed!
Thank you so much for all of the details. I will pass this on to the right people and they will take care of it. I'm sure they are not aware of the problem, this is the type of trick some advertisers pull without the website publisher (like us) knowing about it. Now they'll know where to look and which ad to pull.

Just wanted to verify that I've noticed this as well. It's not an isolated incident. Thanks for looking into it Suzanne 3FC
