For those having problems with the forum locking up --

We've not experienced the problem and can't find a cause for it. If you don't mind, please answer the questions below. Please only answer the questions and not include additional info, so we can compile it easier. Thank you :)

1. What version of Internet Explorer are you using?

2. Have you tried other browsers and if so, do you also experience the same problem with them? If so, please name the browsers and versions accordingly.

3. Please visit www.3fatchicks.com before visiting the forum and let us know if you experience the same problem from the home page.

Thanks :)

I was having this problem - and I stopped coming here for a few months, because it would just shut down my browser.

1. What version of Internet Explorer are you using?
I was using IE version 7.0.5730.13

2. Have you tried other browsers and if so, do you also experience the same problem with them? If so, please name the browsers and versions accordingly.
I started using fire fox for this site (as I dont care for fire fox) and it seems to be working better. I havent had any issue here since I started using FF. Its version 3.0.8

3. Please visit www.3fatchicks.com before visiting the forum and let us know if you experience the same problem from the home page.
I just checked it out briefly, and did not have any issues with IE and the home page.

HTH :)

Went to home page, clicked on forums, and immediately locked up. Here is my screen shot, maybe you can pick up the ad id# of the ad loading problem that's causing this (if we can be so lucky that it's just one ad)

because it looks like the imported img is too small to read

1. What version of Internet Explorer are you using? IE 7 and IE 8

2. Have you tried other browsers and if so, do you also experience the same problem with them? If so, please name the browsers and versions accordingly.
no I haven't, I prefer IE

3. Please visit www.3fatchicks.com before visiting the forum and let us know if you experience the same problem from the home page.
I always start from there

Merksie 05-11-2009 11:27 AM

IE 7 with Vista.

I have the problem whether I visit the forum directly or from the home page.

PLEASE bring back ad-free subscriptions - I suspect the problem at least for me is the bandwidth-hogging ads. I love the site and am more than willing to subscribe to support it . . . but the combination of offensive ads for rip-off diet products and the slowness/crashes they cause make the site far too frustrating for me to use.

1. What version of Internet Explorer are you using? 7.0.6001.18000. with Vista.

2. Have you tried other browsers and if so, do you also experience the same problem with them? If so, please name the browsers and versions accordingly. IE 6 at home (w XP) doesn't hang up nearly as much. It's just at work that I have the major problems.

3. Please visit www.3fatchicks.com before visiting the forum and let us know if you experience the same problem from the home page. I always go thru the home page. It loads great, it's just the forum.

moonkissed 05-11-2009 07:10 PM

I really hope you can figure out what is wrong and fix it. I love this site, but come here way less because it is almost impossible to work around the forums now :( I have to refresh or reopen it almost every other time I click on a thread.

I have run forums myself though and know it is alot of work to find the one tiny problem much less fix it lol so I will keep my fingers crossed and try to be patient.

1. I used to use IE7 when I first started having the issues and then switched to IE8, which I am using now. Still having the same issue.

2. I used firefox idk what version and experienced the same issue. I visit a bunch of sites and forums daily and this is the only one causing me any issues. Also my computer died recently and I am now using my hubbys which is way better then mine was lol using IE8 and still have the same problems.

3. It seems to be just the forums not the main page. I always get to the main page quickly with no issues.

EZMONEY 05-12-2009 10:45 PM

Angie says we have IE8...I would have no clue!

Sheila53 05-15-2009 05:05 PM

What version of Internet Explorer are you using? I use Internet Explorer 7.0

2. Have you tried other browsers and if so, do you also experience the same problem with them? If so, please name the browsers and versions accordingly. Don't use any other browsers.

3. Please visit www.3fatchicks.com before visiting the forum and let us know if you experience the same problem from the home page. I don't usually go to the home page, but did it once and didn't experience a problem, but once isn't a good test. When I go directly to the forums, I get locked out almost every time.

SheilaG 05-18-2009 01:30 PM

1. I.E. 7

2. No.

3. I've tried this but the site still freezes up and kicks me off the net.

wendyland 05-19-2009 04:02 PM

1. IE 6.0.2
2. No, I only have problems on my work computer, which is IE. At home, I use safari & it's fine.
3. I normally go straight to the home page and click on the forum link at the top. Or sometimes I go to the home page and then to one of the recent topics. It freezes more often if I go to one of the recent topics on the front page.

I've never had an ad-free subscription, so I don't think its the ads that's the problem for me.

Amarantha2 05-19-2009 04:27 PM

I believe it is the ads also and also am putting in a respectful and sincere plea for ad free subscriptions. I always had trouble with 3FC in the past (LOVE this site and have been on here with another name since before the flood  ).

When my subscription ran out after I had come back and was finding the forum useable for my older computer because with the ad free option, I did not get locked up by popups and other ads, I posted something here about popups and someone said there were no more popups at 3FC. I have found that to be true and have been getting used to the ads (some of which are somewhat offensive, yes, but living with it), until today when I was yet again in the BL thread and a popup appeared that could not be closed. It was labeled "Tribal Fusion" with some code and it blocked and locked my screen.

Tribal Fusion was the source of the problems I had on here before. I have never seen that phrase or popups on my computer before or since and when I had the ad free subscription, the site moved much more quickly and I stopped having problems.

I do like this site and would gladly pay twice the amount charged for the subscriptions on here before.

It is not my business but I wonder why that option was taken away.

The ads do load slowly on my dial-up (yes, I can't get wi fi here) and now if popups are back, I foresee I won't be able to use the site again without the ad free subscription.

So sorry to be negative.
