August Mini-goal: 4lbs

I wasn't quick enough to post my final update on the last challenge, but I passed my scale goal of 4lbs to lose 6 lbs in July. :D The back exercises completely fell apart though, after my back relapse.

Current weight: 158
August mini goal: 4 lbs
non scale goal: daily back stretches (ideally twice a day)

tikanique 07-04-2005 09:28 AM

Yeah, Mauv shut me out too. I think she closed it on Saturday, but I thought it was through the weekend. I'll post faster next time cause Mauv is one quick chicky :)

At any rate, I met my goals for July. Yeah!!!

Now for August. Let's see, my goal is to be able to fit into my red dress that I love so much and also to be able to buy and wear at least one size 8 item from a store that doesn't oversize it clothes to make consumers feel like they aren't bigger than what they are.

Okay that's about it.

August Mini Goals

Current Weight: 252 (damn 4th bbq >.<)
Goal Weight: 247
Non-Scale Goal: Walking more now that there aren't so many 90+ degree days and find my dang tai-chi tape sheesh

Walking Schedule: 2x a week for 5-10 minutes

mauvaisroux 07-11-2005 04:49 PM

Well I was up .5 last week but have lost that :cb: I'll see what happens at weigh in tomorrow....

tikanique 07-11-2005 04:55 PM

We won't discuss the first week of July. I'm blaming all the bad food choices on the 4th of July and my birthday. On a good note, I re-tried on a dress that I was thinking about buying last month. Then I needed a 12. I bought it yesterday in a size 10!

Hi all, new to this group - I will post a bio so I dont mess up this thread

Current weight:242
August Mini-goal: at least 3lbs to be lost by the 30th (I weigh on SAT am) been stuck at 242 for a month now, and really want to break 240.
and/or
Non-scale goal: to go on a 5 mile hike at least 1 time per week (so far so good) (I already get in 7 15 min walks a week doing chores around the property)

tikanique 07-24-2005 03:16 PM

Geez August is almost here and I already know i am NOT going to meet my goals. I'm finishing the month off with the scales probably at the same place that they were in the beginning of the month. July is such a crazy month for me though. DD has two birthday parties in this month - I have my birthday party this month, 4th of July food, cheerleading, where does a chick fit in workouts and clean eating? I did cut back my normal routine of 5 meals a day down to only 3 since exercise has fallen off this month. I guess that's part of why I haven't gained any weight. I'll see what i can do with the last week of this month.

Being busy is its own form of exercise and stress may be holding you back - Don't feel bad - instead take your measurments (Assuming you take them whenever you lose lbs so you know where it came off.)

I took mine - see the gold stars thread and even though the scale dont move the inches have. I felt much better.

You will too. dont give up - there is a whole week left.

tikanique 07-24-2005 06:36 PM

Thanks for the words of encouragment. I do take my measurements and am actually UP .5 inches in my waist and hips. I'm not down on myself by any measure. I had a helluva good month, good friends, good food, good parties, good wine, good birthday, but now its time to buckle down and get back to business.

Well there is always the September Challenge ;)

Last week left in the August 1 challenge and I am happy to report that I have lost 2 out of my 4lbs but more importantly I have started exercising on a daily basis: dancer:

Tiki- you are doing awesome! :cp:

AngelleNoire 07-29-2005 06:29 AM

I haven't checked and I don't think I am going to. This has been a really awkward and bad month for me just makes me want to scream :censored:

ajandpj99 07-29-2005 09:11 AM

Were Sorry!

Angelle - I am sorry to here you had a bad month. If you come over to July Chat -you can rant and we will all try to make you feel better.:grouphug:

Besides, it is only 1 month, and its over now. The wheel is turning and a new season is coming. :sunny:

You are strong and powerful and you will not be deterred from your goals.:wl:

Even if you wandered off your path - the path is still there, you just have to make your way back. It may make your journey longer, but you will reach your destination.:D

mauvaisroux 07-29-2005 10:06 AM

Angelle - don't feel to bad, I haven't lost much this month either so you are not alone:)

I am going to start fresh this weekend. I am determined to get rid of my last few lbs and be at goal weight before the winter.

tikanique 07-29-2005 11:04 AM

Chin up Angel. Get back in gear, to heck with July, whip August's butt, instead.

Okay, so I tried on the red dress and IT FITS!!!!!! I'm too broke to buy something in a size 8 but I feel great knowing that I COULD if I had the money.

July crossed off as a success, time to jump into August.

Tiki.

Tani 07-30-2005 10:58 AM

Woohoo. I didn't think I was going to make my July goal but I just had a really good week. 4 lbs down for July and 4 more til my original goal. I can't believe it. I'll still have a bit more to lose after I hit goal (which was just a shot in the dark way back when), but since I'm not sure exactly how much, I'll just play it by ear from 150.

ajandpj99 07-30-2005 11:36 AM

Either the scale is messing with me...

Or I have actually lost 6lbs this week?:?::D Down to 236???

It doesn't seem possible - but like I have mentioned before that I don't eat as much when it is hot and I have probably only been eating 1000 cal a day at most compared to my diet range of 1500.

So I guess it is possible - I re weighed my self like 10 times - tested the scale to be sure it wasn't off.

So I made my goal for August (to get below 240) and have almost made my goal for Labor day (235) :D

I am trying to not get too excited since it may be the heat and next week the scale may go up.

So yeah!

ajandpj99 07-30-2005 11:48 AM

I just re,embered something

Since last week was the monthly thing - I probably had lost 3 lbs but it didnt register since the whole bloating thing - so I feel better that my weight loss is genuine!!

Woo Hoo!! :D

Dawnlizbeth 08-01-2005 08:37 AM

Woohoo! Great news PJ!!!

mauvaisroux 08-01-2005 09:27 PM

Congratulations to everyone who lost in July or met their non-scale goal! :bravo:
