Ellis, good going on the Red Lobster. I have to go there tomorrow night for someone's birthday and I am dreading it. I was thinking about having the salmon with no oil or butter + asking them for some steamed veggies or a side salad. I don't know. I guess the point is to make better choices. :dizzy: I find that it really helps me to post my triumphs here...and I have a blog that I keep track of these things, too so that I can look back throughout the day and appreciate the successes. So, thanks to whoever started this thread! My triumphs yesterday: 1. Eating a good breakfast. 2. Eating a salad for lunch. 3. At Souplantation, having no foccacia, pasta, ice cream or SMORES foccacia bread! 4. Going to bed on time. |

Last night I did not go home after dance class and pig out - I am usually starving by the time I get home and end up eating a full meal at 8:00 p.m. :eek: But last night I just got a soft drink and watched a movie and I was fine :) |

Woohoo :) I know exactly what you mean. I get home from the pool on Tues/Thursday at 9pm and I'm always ravenous! Yesterday I at least managed to save my dessert for after class instead of having one before *and* after, heh. |
I didn't get much sleep last night (about 3 hours) but still got up this AM and did my hour session of cardio.

I did NOT give into Polish Sausage, hot dogs, candy or buttered potatoes this weekend. I knew I was going to be around bad foods so I planned ahead and packed a healthy taco salad with lean ground turkey, fat free cheese, lettuce and tomatoes. I did lick the spoon when I finished preparing the potatoes but did NOT put any on my plate at dinner and immediately tossed what the kids didn't eat.

I got home from work and drank a lot of water before immediately starting to snack. Once I was ready to assess how hungry I was, I ate a bowl of grape-nuts with plain ff yogurt and some dried apricots. A very reasonable snack and less than I would have had without the pause beforehand.
