Missions for 2005
I really don't like making New Year's resolutions so I am calling them Missions for 2005
Here are mine...would anyone else like to share there plans for 2005? I am going to print mine out and keep them where I can see them so I don't forget about them :D MISSIONS FOR 2005 Health: Become a WW Lifetime member and maintain my goal weight 1. Join WW with a clean slate in January. 2. Plan weekly menus using my WW points. 3. Only cook WW friendly recipes. 4. Try one new WW recipe each week. 5. Build up a new pantry/freezer system. 6. My mission right now is to write a list of missions, but I'm too busy right now. :lol3:
I'll be back, Mauvais. :D |
To get back on the board....(I've been missing in action....still recovering from the US election, I guess. How's THAT for an excuse?)
To start walking every day once again. Question: Do most folks lose a ton and THEN hit a lull? I reached a lull after three months and 8 pounds or so  |
Later for me too, Mauvais. Once I hit a breather, I'll be back.
|
Otay! I will be starting a challenge for the month of January if anyone is interested. I will probably post it closer to Jan 1. :D
|
Okay. I was putting it off, but now I am ready to put down my very general goals. I have not determined exactly what I will do to get to the goals yet. But it's a start...
1. Work out a diet plan that works for me. I am done with diets. I am going to start using common sense and basic calorie reduction. I know I will be planning on a monthly/weekly cooking plan and using my freezer and my food saver. Beyond that... I'm still working on it. 2. I need to finish up my Sheffield online interior design course. I need to prove to myself and my husband that I can finish it and move on. I was very disappointed with it when I realized it was not what I thought it would be, but that is an old and stupid excuse. I have to finish what I start! 3. I am going to slowly work up to 3 times a week for going to the gym. Right now I'm at one to two days per week. I want to start working on it. I have to wait for my new schedule to come out before I can start a plan for next year, but for now I am going to slowly increase where I can. 4. I want to creat a working budget. We make more money than I thought we did, but it just goes through our fingers. This year I want to find a way for us to start saving, pay off some debt and start a future plan. It's about time, now that we've been married for 2 1/2 years! 5. I am going to start putting together a book of what I want in a home. I want to prepare for home buying and know exactly what we want (or figure out the difference between want and need). I have so many magazines on interior and exterior design gathering dust. Might as well cull through them and put together some ideas for when the time comes. 6. I want to keep a gratitude journal. I have started this last month and noticed that by focusing on positive instead of negative I am able to improve my mood and outlook. I want this to continue in the new year. |
Missions of oh- 5
Mauvaisroux, great idea. "Resolutions" sounds like something Congress or the UN would come up with. Since I've been meaning to do it anyway, here are my missions for the new year:
1.) Drop my excess lbs. 2.) create a neat, orderly and organized living/ working space at home. 3.) get more serious about school, possibly even figuring out when I'll actually graduate. 4.) Take control of my budget instead of spending like a sailor on shore-leave. 5.) get the tattoo I've been meaning to get for the past three years. 6.) Stop being such a drama queen. 7.) love and laugh more. 8.) Stop caring what people think and start doing what I need to do and saying what I need to say. 9.) be nicer to people. whew, that sounds like more than enough for one year. |
Oh yeah...This is the year I am going to donate blood :D (big chicken that I am :chicken: )
|
New Year...
1) Reach my goal weight of 130 (lose 40 more pounds)
2) Participate in the Danskin Women's Triathlon in July (this triathlon is for women just starting out and is a sprint distance race... swim 750 m (1/2 mile), bike 20k, run 5k) 3) Finish all of the household projects that were started in 2004 (or earlier :o ) 4) Establish routine of cleaning the house at least 30 minutes everyday (set timer). 5) Increase our charitable donations by 2% of household income. 6) Finish my last three credits of my masters degree and graduate in May. :cp: |
Quote:
So we made a deal... 20 bucks in the offering plate every week, and the remainder of the 10% to a good charity/charities. That's something that'll make me feel good. |
Here are my three resolut-- er Missions!
1) Get published. Although I made a good attempt to get published this year, next year I would like to see my name in print – and not linked with a homicide. Preferably in a literary magazine. 2) Get into a financial position to be able to continue school. Okay, “get out of debt” was too simple. I’m not in a lot of debt, but I do have some old defaulted school loans that will prevent me from being able to get other school loans to finish school. It would be a damn shame to have a 4.0 and not be able to finish school. 3) Reach 199. I have worked it into my school schedule to exercise. I have the Cute Boyfriend on board. I will accomplish this by cooking at home, packing my lunch and being keenly aware of what goes into my mouth. So.... I should suceed, right? Right?? |
A few year-long goals for 2005
1) Lose 50 pounds (total weight loss goal is 75, so if I'm ahead, keep going!) 2) Exercise 6 days a week, every week (unless I'm noticably ill) 3) Really try to get pregnant if at all possible (PCOS is an issue that might make it not so easy - but the weight loss/exercise is supposed to be good for that problem!) 4) increase focus and productivity at work - it's my own company I'm hurting with my distractibility! So that's the lot. There's a lot of smaller things I'll be trying to accomplish, like cleaning the house and remembering to floss my teeth, but I think those can be handled in monthly or weekly personal goals. :D I'll have to come back to this post from time to time to see how I'm doing. Foosh! Solarmama P.S. Goddess Jess, don't forget you have a crew of fabulous ladies here to support you too! Just a keystroke or five away! (Y'all are helping me stay sane, that's for sure!) -- SM |
Everyone always makes heart felt New Years resolutions.
Last year I wrote my down and put them on the frig, they are still there and I only truly accomplished one of them (that was spending more time with my family). 2005's Missions are basically a revamp of 2004's 1.) Reach and maintain my goal weight. Lose 27.5 pounds +/- 2.) Call my Mom and Grandparents at least once a week. 3.) Get intouch with and stay intouch with my friends. 4.) Let my Kids and Husband know everyday how much I love them. 5.) Exercise more. 6.) Drink more water and less caffiene. 7.) Pay off as many bills as possible. Those are not necessarily in order of importance- being that 2 and 4 are more important than the rest combined. 8.) Don't waste time worrying about the small stuff as much because life it is too short and you never know when it is going to end. Amy |
Missions Possible for 2005
1 - Teach DS how to NOT worry - he is a 12 yr old worryaholic 2 - Be fully prepared and devoted to cheer team this year 3 - Keep a more organized desk at work and at home 4 - Write more 5 - Don't lose my workout steam on April 3 when DS gets his birthday cake 6 - Take at least one trip without my kids to somewhere that I want to go 7 - Dress and style my hair better (stop leaving the house looking like HEL*) 8 - Get into church at least 3 Sundays per month 9 - Start paying off debt 10 - Work to improve appearance of my house These are not in order but are all important to me on some level or other. |
Wow, this is a great thread Mauv
1: Get more in touch with my Higher Power, whom I choose to call God! 2; Get in better touch with myself 3; Get in touch with my family on a closer level 4; Be truely thankful for at least one thing daily, no matter how rotten of a day I may have had 5; Loss this excess weight for good and not find it again. Actually maybe I will give it away and never take it back. 6. Work towards paying off my personal debts and saving for our futures. 7. Stay smoke free (4 days today) 8. Take everyday -One day at a time 9. Be the best friends, mother, wife and lover I can possibly be 10. And last but not lest, find my house under all this clutter. Wish you all the best in 2005! (No skipping two days in a row though!!) 3)Eat healthier. 4)Assert myself more. 5)Post here even when I am feeling bad. 6)Wear perfume, make-up, nice clothes more often. (Just to make MYSELF feel better, not for an event or for other people.) 7)Take more bubble baths!!! :coffee: |

Update:
1. Diet Plan - I've been trying and experimenting to come up with something that will work. I'm not quite there, but I've got some better ideas and have been doing a lot better and being more aware of what my choices are. 2. Interior Design Classes - Well, I know I said I should finish what I start. But I also think it's important to discard what you know you will not finish. I am about to the point with this project. I'll keep it for now, but it may get decluttered when we move in a few months. :) 3. Work up to three days a week at the gym/exercising - I have been doing alright on this. I'm at a steady two days per week, a lot of the time I do three but not enough to actually claim it as a goal having been met. *L* 4. Budget - we know what we need to do now... now it's only a matter putting it into action. 5. Book of things I want for a house & magazine clippings - I have maintained this and I have kept up very well with letting the magazines pile up. I get three or four and then I go through and cut out what I want and toss the rest. 6. Gratitude Journal - meh. I stopped this a while ago because I was too depressed to think of anything nice to say, and as they say if you don't have anything nice to say.. blah blah blah.:) I am going to get back onto this though because I did feel better when I was doing it. Maybe we should wake up that old thread about happy and grateful... |
