Yay! (post your little accomplishments!)

Yay!
We went out to the International House of Pancakes last night...and I had black coffee and a veggie omelet with no cheese!
(I stayed away from all things pancakes)

I found my Kalil "Diet Dr. Good Guy" soda!! YAY!!!!!! No calories & NO aspartame!!! Sweetened with splenda and tastes like Dr. Pepper...

(I gave up Dr. Pepper over a year ago, but never lost the cravings...) :dz:

ellis 11-11-2004 07:10 AM

I was eating a bowl of chips, and threw the last half in the garbage. (you did say, "little")

tikanique 11-11-2004 08:40 AM

Instead of eating a bowl of my kids cereal, I ate low fat skim mozzarella and then went to bed.

Amyjo01 11-11-2004 10:24 AM

I am drinking water.... almost up to 7 -16 ounce bottles a day...Also dropping my caffiene intake.

Tea Rose 11-11-2004 05:03 PM

I made a peanut butter and Strawberry jam sandwich and instead of using two peices of bread I used one and put twice as much peanut butter and jam to make up for it

Tea Rose 11-11-2004 05:03 PM

Just Kidding Ellis

aphil 11-11-2004 05:18 PM

I did a 50 minute step aerobic workout and LIVED...

Tea Rose 11-11-2004 06:38 PM

Hi Everyone
Has anyone heard of The Book The Perricone Promise watched it on Oprah sounded like he had some really valid points, one thing he said , change your coffeefor green tea and I think he said ,you would lose 10 pounds in six weeks just by changing that one thing .I Love my coffee but its worth a try .

aphil 11-11-2004 06:58 PM

They are both almost calorie free...I don't see where that would make a difference....unless your mornign coffee is a grande cafe mocha with whipped cream at Starbucks...

Tea Rose 11-11-2004 07:23 PM

Recent research shows that tea's combination of natural caffine and phytochemical antioxidents called catechins which is incredibly effective at promoting fat loss by elevating thermogenesis.tea also protects lean muscle mass and stabilizes blood sugar levels no whipped cream involved

aphil 11-11-2004 07:33 PM

Like I said...I drink green tea a few times a week-but I have noticed no effect/any difference in the speed of my weight loss when I do or when I don't. There are lots of things that natually cause slight thermogenesis-like moderate amounts of peppers/hot sauce...but I have never heard of it causing a 10 pound drop in 6 weeks-by that change alone.
Green tea has a lot going for it-a very healthy drink-but I wouldn't rely on that switch alone for weight loss. JMHO.

Tea Rose 11-11-2004 08:02 PM

Please don't hit me ,I just thought it sounded good

lizziness 11-11-2004 08:07 PM

I also think it's because Green Tea is a diuretic. And the caffiene in the coffee is an appetite stimulant, and as someone already pointed out the green tea is naturally caffienated. The tea will help you through if you're doing a low carb diet too (you know what I mean if you're on one *LOL*) which is another added benifit. I can see where it could help, plus all the antioxidants, etc

ellis 11-11-2004 08:33 PM

Tea Rose... When I read your first post (sandwich), I thought, HELLOOOOO!?!? Are you nuts!?!? And then I read your second. :lol3: You got me good, girl.

Tea Rose 11-11-2004 08:41 PM

Well hi there Ellis
I was wondering what took you so long , I try my best

Noodles913 11-12-2004 12:07 AM

Green Tea is also great for arthritis. :smug:

3fcuser1058250 11-12-2004 07:06 AM

I cut down on coffee too, started green tea just for the fun of it... I started this the day before I saw Oprah because I had been reading alot about it's benefits... I don't mind the taste at all...

mauvaisroux 11-12-2004 03:22 PM

Well the Chinese have known about the benefits of green tea for several centuries now so I guess there is nothing new under the sun

Back on to the topic of our accomplishments .....I managed to completely ignore the large box of Halloween size bags of chips that has been sitting in our office kitchen at work for the last week :smug:

Ruthxxx 11-12-2004 05:18 PM

I actually gave away the last of the Halloween treats last weekend. This week I've lost 2.5 pounds. Do you think there might be a connection?

ellis 11-13-2004 08:01 AM

Congratulations on your accomplishments, girls! :hat:

I was completely OP yesterday! An entire day!!

aphil 11-13-2004 03:31 PM

Yay for everyone's accomplishments!

I have been OP for a few days now after my recent little fiasco...and I have exercised for 30-60 minutes each day all week long! Yay!!!

Amyjo01 11-13-2004 05:16 PM

I have been OP since Tuesday- and have even eaten out 2 times this week. :)

squeaker 11-15-2004 10:35 AM

Not a OP yay! But I finally managed to make my appointment for my annual exam. :p Not that I am looking forward to it...

Congrats on everyones accomplishments! :balloons:

ellis 11-15-2004 11:30 AM

Keep it up, girls!! :hat:

This is my fourth day OP!!

Noodles913 11-15-2004 12:00 PM

YAY all of you OP girls!! BTW, what's OP?? :?:

I got the house clean this weekend!! YAY!! And it's still clean even with company coming and going!! :hyper: I gave the dog a bath too!! She was starting to get that "corn chip" smell. Ewwwww... :tired:

mauvaisroux 11-15-2004 12:18 PM

OP means "on plan" which means you were a good chick and stayed on your diet, unlike me who didn't who gorfed out on Tiramisu on Friday night

I did however have a salad for dinner on Saturday and refrained from eating popcorn at the movies :cp:

tikanique 11-15-2004 05:15 PM

In my office, right by my desk, all day long there has been a box of godiva chocolates and a bag of pepperidge farm cookies. In addition to that, in the main kitchen there has been a huge tray of walnut-chocolate brownies and a big fat birthday cake. I am PROUD to report I have not eaten ANY of it. I read the label on the Godiva box and thought about them and stared a whole lot, but I didn't touch any.

Tiki.

Noodles913 11-15-2004 05:39 PM

Ooooo Chocolate... :chocolate: Tiki I couldn't of had that kinda willpower. You could always open one up and sniff the package...thats what models do to curb their chocolate cravings. Me..I gotta eat it.

(sorry..didn't mean to go off-topic, Mauv. :o )

ellis 11-15-2004 05:43 PM

Me too, Ellis!!

rochemist 11-16-2004 06:33 AM

I went today without any candy bars. :D
I refrained from self-destructive behavior today. :p
ODAT!

Chris

tikanique 11-16-2004 08:43 AM

Hey, nothing boosts your willpower like dating. If all goes well, eventually someone may get to see me nude and the question is what do I want to look like if and when that day comes!!!

Tiki - about the motivation factor  Good going on ignoring all that food - that must have been tough!

Noodles - sorry but sniffing the chocolates would have made me eat them :D

The box of chips is still in the office but I put it up on a higher shelf so it is not at eye level which makes it much easier to ignore ;)

:lol3: Right On!!!!!!!

Way to go, Chris!! :smug:

Yesterday I managed to get the blinds in the kitchen clean!! I had to wipe down each piece of blind with mild soap and water and dry it. What a pain in the butt. :dz: But now no more dust!! :D

Noodles913 11-17-2004 03:26 PM

Yesterday I decided to finally give the ceiling fans their twice yearly cleaning. I have since decided that I should clean them more than twice a year now. :o

I first vacuumed what I could, then went through a roll of paper towels and ½ a bottle of cleanser to clean the damn things. But I got all 3 clean!! Now maybe I should use that swiffer thing more often. ;)

tikanique 11-17-2004 04:03 PM

Last night I came to the sad realization that the money that I spent on new back windows in my house was wasted because there is still a TON of air coming through. I had to cover them in plastic for the season. Oh yeah, the accomplishment is that I got it done and won't be spending as much money to keep the house warm.

Noodles, I thought that when you run your ceiling fan, all the dirt flies off of them. Are you saying that they are supposed to be cleaned?

Tiki.

Not here, Tiki. I think the dirt/dust here is it's own kind. It has fuzzy stuff attached to it after sitting for a while. It doesn't just lift off like normal dirt. Weird huh!!
