Non-scale victories
Although I did not do that well on the Labour day challenge (unless something miraculous happens in the next 4 days ;) ) I did manage to lose 1lb and maintain my weight at 160lbs even through a convention/holiday so that was an achievement in itself. :cb:
My close are fitting better and that makes me happy! :D Has anyone had some non-scale victories they are happy about? |
Yay, Mauvais! :hat:
Hey! Wait a minute! That's not a non-scale victory! :lol3: Let's see... Well, this isn't really a "victory", but I'm feeling incredibly pleased because I finally got my car safetied and clean-air tested yesterday so that I could transfer it into my name from Dad's. (before he pops off) It meant getting the brakes fixed, but I could actually afford it this week, and I feel REALLY good! |
Since I've been riding my bike and walking alot more, I noticed in the shower this AM that my thighs are getting some definition. Not thinner, yet, but defined. ;)
|
I now can comfortably wear a size 18! I need to lose a lot more but it sure beats 24 or 3X!
|
Terrific, Ruthie! I think losing sizes is what it's all about! I don't pay much attention to weight. The scale has been evil to me sometimes.
|
Way to go chicks! :cp:
That is excellent Ruthxx! :bravo: |
WAY TO GO Mauvais, Ells, Chervata and Ruthxxx!!!!!
(Hey Ruth, remember when you couldn't break that 200 barrier? You have been below that for a while now, so you have ALSO had a scale victory.) |
Den, dear, where is YOUR victory!? Make one, darling!!
Congratulations, everyone! :hat: |
okay, I got one! I made it into the gym, did 45 minutes cardio plus my weight training, three days in a row! I also grilled my first steak EVER IN LIFE this weekend and it was GOOD!!!

Taking a big breath and divulging...
OK--checking in with you guys has kept me "honest" and motivated about my daily exercise. Which I love.
So I'm going to mention another task that is hard for me to do--so that perhaps the discipline from the ONE area will rub off on the other. For the second day in a row I have actually put my butt in the chair and worked on my kids' book. This is big. (The accomplishment, not my butt...er uh, well, um.....) I can't go into details....Talking about writing gets in the way of DOING the writing, I've found. (Ellis relates, I'll bet!) Plus I don't want to jinx anything. But from time to time, as I make progress, I'll check back in for a few strokes from you fine folks. Like many of you, I'll bet, I'm horribly self-critical and tend to be a perfectionist about my own work. (I don't expect OTHERS to be perfect for heaven's sake, but for some dumb reason I hold myself to a higher standard.) So here's what I need to hear: "It doesn't have to be perfect!" So...for my non-scale victory, I will proudly claim my two-days of writing consistency! :comp: (To be truly lifelike, this smiley should have drops of blood springing from its head!) Megan/LLS |
I'm claiming a victory in advance - Even though I am having a blah day, blah arm workout, blah mentality, blah weather outside, blah ex-husband, I am NOT going to eat any comfort foods.

Good going Tiki! :cp:
My victory today is that I don't feel like going to my WW meeting but I am forcing myself to go and not bailing! :D |
My non-food victory - I wanted to celebrate staying focused for 7 days straight and instead of having a food reward, I bought new lipstick instead. Also, I can get back into the cool shorts that I bought myself before I blew my work-out/eating plan.

Good going Tiki :cp:
Today I treated myself to a new pair of stylish sunglasses  |
