witchy women?

  • Didn't we used to have a pagan themed thread around here? Haven't seen it in a while.
I was wondering if there are any little rituals or pagan ideas for helping with dieting. I haven't seen very much in my reference books and usually just do my own thing. But I thought maybe other witchy women around here might have some things they've tried and had success with?

    Blessings!

  • I have a few, let me dig them out.
  • Okay, here is the first one I found.

Take a blue topaz to a quiet space and sit comfortably. Set the stone aside, then close your eyes and hold your hands closely together, palms facing each other. Feel the warmth of energy flow between your fingers and palms. Visualize the energy as a white light.

Move your hands farther apart, forcing the energy stream to braoden. Keep moving your hands amd expanding the energy force until you reach a distance of about 6 inches. Shape the energy into a ball with your fingers, then squeezeand compress it until it is the size of the stone.

Hold the compressed energy in one hand and the topaz in another, then clasp your hands together to combine the two. Say:

    Thought form of my energy
In this stone, now live and be.

Open your hands and breathe on the stone. Say:

I share with you my Air to breathe.

Hold the stone to your forehead, then hold it to your heart. Say:

I give you the Fires of passion and intellect.

Rub some saliva into the stone. Say:

I give you the Waters of Life.

Rub the stone across your feet. Say:

I give you the strength of foundation.

Hold the stone in your dominant hand until it tingles and pulsates with energy. Open your hand and chant over the stone:

    Stone of topaz, bluest stone,
Your life is mine, and mine alone.
    Work to curb my appetite
And bring good health back into sight.
Give me strength to stay away
From foods where fat and sugar play.
Bring the will power I need
As I will, so mote it be.

Wear or carry the stone around while dieting.
  • Cactus Spell (shedding unwanted habits)-on a waning moon to dispel your bad habit, and on a Tuesday to give you willpower and courage to banish it.

    What you need:
a tee light or votive in a secure holder
    matches or lighter
    9 sewing needles
    tweezers or scissors
one green taper candle cut to 4-5 inches, placed in a secure holder
    one small screwtop jar
    one potted spikey cactus
    a little water

*Gather the ingredients together in the bathroom
*Light the t light or votive, and holding a needle at the eye end with tweezers or scissors, put the pointed end into the flame until it glows red hot.
*Push half the needle, point first into the green candle
*Repeat this process with the remaining 8 needles sticking them into different points along the candle's length, so it eventually has 9 needles sticking out of it.
*Hold the base of the candle in both hands and, concentrating hard on the habit you wish to shed, say:

    As these 9 needles fall,
    My [habit] will fall away,
    As these nine needles drop,
    My [habit] will be discarded.

*When you are ready to let go of this habit, light the candle, and watch the needles drop.
*When the candle has completely burned down, remove all the needles, place in the jar , and screw on the top firmly and say:
You have been burned, Never return.
*Bury the jar in your garden away from your house where it won't be disturbed.
*Place the cactus in you bathroom saying:
    Defend me from [habit]
    Good friend.

*Water the cactus sparingly, and keep it in your bathroom.
*Visualize a new, positive habit to replace the one you have just shed and to ensure that the bad habit does not return-and act apon it!
  • I think I have another one too, but I can't find it, but when I do, I will post it. Sunset is suppose to be the best time of day to do dieting rituals/spells.
  • i know i have some somewhere. lol have to dig them out to share.
  • Thanks for sharing those flower
  • Wow flower, that is a great spell. I can not wait to try that one! Although a cactus is not a succulent, it reminds me of a book called "Succulent, Wild Woman!" by Sark (one of my favorite authors).

"Succulent, Wild Women"--- is about learning to be a wonder-full woman who is not afraid of life. Sark defines "succulent" with these words: ripe, juicy, whole, round, exuberant, wild, rich, wide, deep, firm, rare, female."

In my woman's circle we do a lot of work with the seasons. During the planting season we did some spell work with what we wanted to harvest by planting some seeds with our intentions in them. I always think this is a good idea since if you have to nurture the plant everyday, it may remind you of the intentions for that season.
  • Goddess Jessica, I loved reading Sark, it has been a while but she sure did bring a smile to my face.

here is a candle spell :
Meditate during the waning moon. Light a pink candle for self-love. Anoint it
with the oil of your choice. Next light a brown candle, engrave the number of
pounds you want to loose on it. Then visualize banishing the excess weight.
Runes can also be carved on the candle if you wish and incense can be burned.
Visualize the smoke taking the excess pounds away!!
