With that, new detective Lilboob looks at the blonde in bed next to her. "gotta run honey, have to work" She gently kisses the woman's cheek and rolls out of bed thinking, hmm...she's adorable, I wonder what her name is?

Lilboob showers and dresses hastily. She walks outside, takes a deep breath of the early morning air and climbs into her MINI Cooper. Shortly after, she arrives at the scene, hair still wet, full of gel, one stray piece repeatedly falling onto her face. She swipes it back absentmindedly as she takes in the scene. Her calm demeanor belies her intense concentration as she surveys the carnage.

Older officers are milling about, some stunned, holding back tears, quietly walking away, shaking their heads, others, bent over the sidewalk, vomiting into the street... Detective Lilboob strolls over to the lead investigator, Mauvais.

"Hey, what's up" says Lilboob casually, a quick smile on her face.

Mauvais frowns, her penetrating eyes focused intensely on the young detective, "You're a mess, tuck that shirt in. It's no secret Lilboob, I'm the only female lead crime scene investigator in this state, and I've worked hard to garner the respect of my peers. If you want to remain on my team you need to get your priorities in order. One more f*%# up and I'll bust you down to meter maid. Now, lets take a closer look at these bodies and see what we have here..."

Of course I cried my eyes out at the second chapter -- Vanessa Redgrave is so moving, and a tear often does come to my eye when I think of the myriad inequalities with which the queer community is confronted. (That's why my partner and I spent so much money drawing up a stack of legal documents of protection, in lieu of the regular ole benefits of a legal marriage.)

Yup, Soozie, I'm with you on the tasty butch in the first segment --- bigtime swoon-factor there - although I told my own butch sweetie, "Oh stop, honey -- she's ok, no big deal -- nothing to write home about," and as soon as she looked away, :dizzy: :P: !

okay, now before I invest my time reading a Patricia Cornwall book...does her niece have any hot and steamy butch-in-charge romances? In other words if Pat did have an affair, did it have the appropriate impact on her writing? ;)

My partner and I saw spy games last night on tv...wow, was that young guy, playing opposite Robert Redford, Brad Pitt? Because his gorgeous soulful eyes and sculpted face could make me consider switching teams...however, my lovely DP would stop me...I mean thinking about her would stop me.
