Ta-Da!!! June 9+

My ta-da! was that I got up early on Saturday and Sunday and exercised! A great feat for somebody who used to sleep in until 11 am and then shlep around watching home decor shows while eating breakfast :)

I am actually getting some work done around the house too before DH gets up at 10 am- which is making me feel better mentally :D

Ruthxxx 06-10-2003 10:13 AM

TA-Da! Summer is officially here! I shaved my legs this morning! (It was a ***** undoing all the little braids and removing the beads but I did it. Cornrowed legs are so yesterday in Delta! )
I weighed myself afterwards and am still the same. :( Frass!

Lidian 06-10-2003 10:25 AM

I have logged a good walk onto my pedometer log since May 18, every day. And got 2 birthday presents for 2 little girls (one 4, one 7) whom I don;t know very well (but who are pals of my youngest DD)(Actually the 4 yr old is a classmate's sister, the 7 yr old is a pal). Ta-Da!

However, the house is a disastrous mess & I am totally behind in just about everything else. Anti Ta-Da (Da-Ta? Ta-Ta? Baba Ram Dass?)

finally did 3 miles on the treadmill, next goal to do it in under an hour. Worked in yard (aka stump filled, poison ivy covered, dog poop filled, mole hole covered space between house and road)and transplanted some myrtle. Also got poison ivy on my face and cold sores from being in the sun too long...ta...da....?

ellis 06-10-2003 11:47 AM

 You girls are hilarious.
My life is not nearly so interesting at present. But I DID see my optomatrist again this morning, and she said my eyes are healing and I should be able to wear contacts again by December. So if I'm thin and glasses-free (again), I may be a babe come Christmas. :D

mauvaisroux 06-10-2003 12:43 PM

You Chicks are hysterical!

Ta-da!!!! For 3 weeks running I have had the lunches made, my clothes picked out for work, my gym clothes set out and my bag packed for work before I have gone to bed every night :D

I have also had the dinner dishes done and the sink shining every night for 2 weeks :cb: Thank you Flylady!!!!

Lidian 06-10-2003 02:29 PM

Wow, Mauvais! I am exhausted just reading all that you are doing! Major ta-da's!

Maybe I will check out that Flylady thing. Since Hannah Gruen is not gonna be showing up anytime soon.

Lidian

[Maybe Hannah IS Flylady!?]

dentrassi 06-10-2003 04:43 PM

WOW Ruth!!! I shaved mine too!!! Also shaved my pits for the first time in 20 years. Won't be doing THAT again anytime soon!!! I bought a new razor which I thought would improve the process, but my pits were itching and annoyed just the same as I remember from all those years ago. IT JUST AIN'T WORTH IT!!!!

Ellis-Glad to hear your eyes are getting better!!!

To all the rest of you...CONGRATULATIONS on your ta das!!! Now would you PLEASE come here and clean MY house and exercise for me?

ellis 06-10-2003 05:44 PM

Good grief... you shaved your PITS! How dare you!? I suppose you expect ME to do the same now!? Well, forget it! heh heh.

I rejoined FlyLady last week. Thinking that I would have time for it. I've been hitting "delete" everytime she sends me an email... maybe next week I can get my act together...

mauvaisroux 06-11-2003 02:38 PM

Ta-da!:D I bought some herbs at lunch time yesterday and spent Tuesday evening transplanting them into my windowboxes :cb:

squeaker 06-11-2003 06:03 PM

Boring Ta-Da - but I got a bunch of stuff accomplish at work that I have been trying to do for the last week. I cleaned out half of my inbox "to do" list. It is rare lately that when I finish the day I felt like I really got something done.

squeaker 06-11-2003 09:26 PM

Also partially cleaned my kitchen. At least the top of the stove and my table.

Also washed all of my summer clothes, even if I don't fit in them.

ellis 06-12-2003 07:31 AM

Did the FlyLady thing and (almost) totally cleaned my kitchen yesterday and even hung up the pot rack that's been sitting atop the microwave for 6 months. It's hanging on "the wall that's waiting to be patched and painted", but that may not happen for a YEAR, so I may as well get some use out of the rack in the meantime.

Ruthxxx 06-12-2003 07:57 AM

TA-DA! Opened yesterday's mail and found that I did Harry's income tax perfectly! Mine get through the Eagle Eyes at Rev. Canada as well. Life is good when you don't have to worry about the feds breathing down your sweaty neck all summer!

Cleaned out the fridge and one freezer to get ready for today's dump run.

Summer clothes are out of storage - just not hanging in the closets. (Need to ditch the winter ones first and big sort and pitch needed.)

ellis 06-12-2003 08:58 AM

Ruth, didn't you used to WORK there!? Yeah, those gimlet-eyed buggers would want to THOROUGHLY check YOUR forms.

squeaker 06-15-2003 07:52 PM

Wrapped presents, organized my closet, did laundry, even put away the laundry, got my bills together, cleaned off my living room table, and working on the kitchen. Don't know why I have a ton of energy, but I will take avantage of it!

squeaker 06-15-2003 07:54 PM

Oh and I managed to go grocery shopping and only got fruit, salad mix, vitamins, and my Sunday paper. :)

mauvaisroux 06-15-2003 08:17 PM

Way to go Squeaker ! :cp:

ellis 06-15-2003 08:29 PM

Presents!? For me?! :D How sweet of you!

squeaker 06-16-2003 09:19 AM

Sure thing Ellis. :) I will bring them when we all go for dimsum (or whatever it is you girls keep talking about...)

Thanks Mauvais. :) I don't know what is up, but I like it. My house is clean.

ellis 06-16-2003 10:30 AM

Squeak, look at this... pictures of dim sum. :D

mauvaisroux 06-16-2003 10:34 AM

Thanks Ellis, now I am hungry! :(

mauvaisroux 06-18-2003 02:54 PM

Tah-dah!!!! :D

Went for a walk and then to the mall at lunch time. Sears was having a great sale on underwear and I bought 2 bras for $15.00 each and 2 bras for $7.00 each from the company Triumph. Pretty good since they were originally $42.00 per bra!

I also bought some matching thong :o underwear from the same company on sale at more than 1/2 off the original price of $18.00 each!

I am going home tonight to rid my drawers of any crappy looking -makes-me-feel-unsexy-old underwear! Huzzah! :dancer:

Ruthxxx 06-18-2003 04:49 PM

TA-DA! Went to The Falls for music this morning and did NOT go to the Chinese Buffet place. I had a Thai Chicken salad at McDonalds. A sensible choice for a change.

(....and then that darn Ellis posts Dim Sum pics.) I get dibs on the shrimp toast!

liz321 06-18-2003 05:36 PM

Just a few brags

Got the house tidied up before the housekeeper arrived at 9 am

Did some gardening including planting

Washed and folded a load of laundry

Did two errands I have been procrasitinating on re: school next year for girls

Booked summer camps/swimming lessons for dd11 and dd5

Took my 5 year old for a walk after lunch.....do I have to mention the bowl of turtle ice cream upon our return

Cleaned out the fridge and got garbage together for garbage day tomorrow

It may not sound like much but this is huge for me...........so.........................ta da!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mauvaisroux 06-18-2003 07:30 PM

Way to go Chicks! :cp:

ellis 06-18-2003 09:31 PM

Ruth, next time we'd better go somewhere where they HAVE Shrimp Toast, because I've STILL never had it! And you're making me DROOL!

Congratulations Mauvais, Ruth, and Liz! Liz, could you come and clean out MY fridge please? :D

The cutlery drawer that I painted 3 days ago is FINALLY dry... all of my cutlery is organized and I have thrown about a bunch of CRAP that should NOT have been in there!

And I just baked a loaf of bread for my sweet friend who has had his dear old cat put down today. It would be selfish of me to consider that a ta-da, but I AM glad I did it. It's too easy to procrastinate.
I wish I was rich and could make up appreciation baskets for all the wonderful people in my life. I'm so blessed...

flower 06-20-2003 03:29 PM

I converted my shed to my crafts room! It is all done and ready to be crafty!

ellis 06-20-2003 04:30 PM

I did a TON of cleaning. And then a friend called and asked if she could come for a coffee with her 18 month old ( ) , so at least it was clean when she came. (wasn't too damned clean when they LEFT, though!)

Ruthxxx 06-20-2003 06:12 PM

OMG, Ellis! You are blowing your "I vant to be alone" personality. Are you going to throw a tea party next?
How about a dim sum party instead?

ellis 06-20-2003 07:23 PM

Thank you for recognizing my pain, Ruth. :D

A tea party WOULD be nice! I did one once for a baby shower. (damned babies) We can have little cucumber sandwiches. And scones. With cream and jam. And coffee in the fancy cups.

dentrassi 06-20-2003 09:39 PM

AND MARMITE SARNIES!!!!!!

ellis 06-21-2003 06:11 AM

There will be NO Marmite at MY tea party. :snooty:
(what the **** are Marmite SARNIES!?)
:queen:

Ruthxxx 06-21-2003 07:18 AM

Does she mean SAMMITCHES?

Lidian 06-21-2003 10:26 AM

Sure she does! The Beatles talk about sarnies in A Hard Day's Night, sandwiches - I think it is in the cocktail party scene with all the reporters bothering them, and they don't get any sarnies.

Hee hee!

Lidian

dentrassi 06-22-2003 12:55 AM

YUP!!!

FINE ELLIS!! I'll bring my own and add it to the cucumber sandwiches!!!!

And then I'll BREATH ON YOU!!!!

ellis 06-22-2003 08:20 AM

FINE!!!

Lidian 06-22-2003 12:13 PM

You ought to hear the shrieks of horror when DH makes himself a little Marmite sarnie! My delicate daughters yell as if a tiger had suddenly leaped onto the table. Me, I don't really like it but I have been with DH for 18 years (married 15) so I am kind of used to it!

The girls and I WOULD prefer those cucumber sarnies though! And little cakes, please.:)

We would be delighted to bring some delicate strawberries & blueberries along too, as our contribution!

Lidian

(The Marmite eaters may sit at their very own table! Tee hee)

ellis 06-22-2003 12:53 PM

Delicate strawberries and blueberries will be lovely, Lidian.
Yes, the Marmite eaters can sit at a wee little table with the kiddies. :)

My MIL once made one of those "sandwich cakes". The kind where you get a loaf of bread sliced horizontally and spread each layer with a different spread. Then slice it vertically. I always thought those things were tacky, but it was kind of good. :D

Ruthxxx 06-22-2003 01:27 PM

I love tea party sandwiches and so does my sister. When Mum died, we had a family "situation" because Joan wanted to have Mum cremated at a certain place where they make little tea sandwiches for the reception afterwards. We jumped on her because Mum had clearly stated she did not want cremation! For once, Joan didn't win an arguement!

My TA-DA for today is that I bought myself a chaise after Church and am going to go out there and lie on it right now! Wake me up for dinner, OK? (or for tiny sandwiches!)
