I notice you're makin' up for it now that I've SAID that, Lidian. snort.
Yeah, if anyone is ignored around here it's that Dentrassi. She THINKS she's one of the family, but she's actually like the hampster. We feed her when we think of her. snicker. |
And I escape from the cage and poop all over the rug to get even.
|
Yeah, I kind of have haven't I? Tee hee.
Hi, Den! Lidian |
Dear God I love you two, Ellis & Den. Not that I don't love everyone else, but you two are a freakin' riot.
|
We're all freakin' riots, Squeak. And you are our little sister. I can't believe she sleeps naked, girls!! This is unacceptable!!
I thought I knew how to write HTML, but I want to know how the heck she wrote so small. That short twirp. That honkin' Lidian never SHUTS UP!! |
:lol::lol::lol:
|
I'm ignoring yez all. Yez is nertz!
|
HA! Mother Ruth!! YOU are the nuttiest of ALL time!!
|
Sez you!
|
Hee hee!
And to think, in real life, I am a classic introvert! Lidian |
Tch! You girls are off topic again (as usual  ) this is SUPPOSED to be the starting over thread  This is just part of why I love you chicks! :D
|
We're at our best when we're off topic, Mauvais. :D
Me too, Lidian... this is the only place where I'm sociable. My oldest friend is coming over today with her 18 month old. I'm tossing and turning... do I bother cleaning, or I do I just wait until after the kid's totaled my house... After, I think. Maybe just take the garbage out and move the sharp knives... And my stereo remote. He seems to enjoy chewing on remotes... What I really need is one of those cattle prods. Everytime he moves towards something he shouldn't... ZAP!!! |
Definitely wait until after! Your friend will think your house as it is, is sparkling - cuz she has that 18 month old redecorating HER house 24/7!
Now it is our 2 cats who do the redecorating around here - arrangements of grey cat hair placed in various locations & of course the trendy 'shredded' texturizing of the upholstered furniture (on one couch, the silver duct tape which covers the first bout of shredding is also shredded!) Lidian:lol: |
Sounds very attractive, Lidian.
He only spilled water on the hardwood and broke one special china cup. Coated with silver. A stressful time was had by all. Next time I'm going to THEIR house!! |
I can't get to the Post Reply, so you will have to imagine the little laughing face!
That was too bad about your lovely-sounding cup, Ellis - there was a toddler closely related to me (she still lives here in fact) who broke the much-loved owl-shaped incense burner given to me by my favourite grandmother in the 1970s. I think she was tossing a toy around. Still remember that! Sorry, Mauvais - it WAS the Starting Over thread, you say? If I eat any chocolate mints tomorrow (or toast tonight) I WILL have to start over, I guess! Only so much sugarless jello a person can eat, after all. Lidian [imaginary smiling face] |
Good grief, Lidian! You mean you have to go to the Post Reply to get a smiley? Okay look... it's : plus ) equals :) . :D And that one is a : plus a D . Huh. And I thought you knew EVERYTHING!
I'm so sorry about your incense burner. It's like losing a child (well, not really, but you know what I mean). Funny how that's the sort of memory we take to our death bed... I broke a few things as a child, and Mom still reminds me of them on occasion. Okay, Mauvais... on topic... ;) I am starting Phase Two of the South Beach today. I was going to stay on Phase One for another week, but I'm bored to the point of cheating (see "large sausage roll" in "Pigs"), so I'm going to switch today. And will probably go back to Phase One for a week in a while. I'm stuck at this 5.5 pound loss (which is GREAT!... don't get me wrong!), but I don't want to screw it up and gain it back through stupidity (which is how I GOT this fat in the first place!) |
Yup! I guess I am starting over too :(
I read some old posts and came across one where I weighed in at 156lbs - that was about 6 lbs away from my goal and I weighed in at 173.5lbs when I signed up for WW again a few weeks ago. what happened to me over the winter???? I could just cry when I see how close I was:cry: So back to the drawing board. So far I have lost 6.5lbs - not a bad start on the road to sveltedom  |
Lol, Mauv - I just signed up for WW again myself. Hopefully the group-inspiration will help me, too! :)
|
Thanks Ellis :) -- most days I hardly know anything actually! I have seen the parentheses/colon thingies for ages but never actually Made the Conection that I could do it too! A genuine Oprah moment! :) (there, that feels great!)
Yeah, I am gonna remember that incense burner when I am 85 and can't remember my phone number or anything...but I am trying to move on! I do have another incense burner for instance (a pot with sand in it, to put incense sticks in - the old lamented burner was for cones) How's Phase 2 going, Ellis? 5.5 lbs is GREAT you know! And Mauvais! You have lost 6.5 in no time! And you must be toning up a lot - all the exercise you are doing (I wish I was as dedicated) Lidian |
Thanks, Lidian. :) First day on Phase Two. I had porridge for breakfast with some walnuts and cinnamon... yummy!
And an apple. And a low-fat yogurt fruit freezie. Plus the usual stuff. It's nice to have a bit more variety. Hopefully the scale won't take a leap. I have a fat brass buddha in our downstairs bathroom for incense. Actually, I have a burner in almost every room in the house. I used to HATE incense, but now I love it. It conceals many odors... :D I've got a rosemary/peppermint one that is WICKED! And Ruth gave me some lavender incense that is divine. :) |
Where did you get rosemary/peppermint? It sounds wonderful...I have a bunch of Spiritual Sky sticks I like, in pine, strawberry, cinnamon etc. It ceratinly does improve the, um, atmosphere around here when it needs improving! :D
Lidian |
Oh sorry... I'm just looking at it now... it's eucalyptus/peppermint. It's made by ummmm, Marvel Fragrances in India for the Abbott Collection. AGRA. ? Someone gave it to me. It's in a lovely green and mauve tube. Something I probably couldn't afford to buy for myself. :D
I'm having one of those days when I want to eat everything in sight. |
Hey Lunula- congratulations on starting your program, how are you doing so far?
MMMMMM.....I love incense too-my favorite at the moment is cinnamon. |
Well, Mauv... I haven't actually gone to a meeting yet, lol. I have my 10 coupons and my first meeting will be this coming Friday.
I hope I do as well as you're doing! :) And Ellis, I have a fat brass Buddha for incense, too! I stole it from my father - his brother brought it back from Vietnam after the war (I think he still looks for it once in a while, hehe). My fave fragrance at the moment is clove... mmmmmm. |
Lunula, good luck on Friday! I hope you like it!
Where we live we're surrounded by different cultures (my son's school has kids from over 50 different countries!), and there are a LOT of Vietnamese people. I love them... we have the most wonderful neighbours. One of them on occasion will drop over with a plate of fresh home made spring rolls... oh geez... they are to DIE for! I love my Buddha... I love it when my uptight SIL comes over and looks at it with disapproval. (she's a Christian, and so am I, but GET OVER IT! ) |
Ellis- I am so buying a house in your neigborhood-just so the neighbors will feed me- oh and so I can pop by any time-I just know how much you looooove surprise drop ins, what with your "GET LOST" door mat and all
|
Ellis & Lunula, you remind me...my fave necklace is a medal of the Great Buddha in Nara, Japan (I think it is that one) on a red string - on one side, a little round photo of it, on the other, a prayer in red calligraphy on a yellow background. I love it, and even though I am not religious I ALWAYS wear it on long trips. For good karma/luck. I don;t let the girls borrow it either, and I let them borrow necklaces a fair bit.
Lidian:) |
That's the last time I'm dim summing with YOU missy!!
Mauvais, this is the BEST neighbourhood! We would LOVE to have you here. We are the coolest neighbourhood in Ottawa. :smoking: |
Lidian... your necklace sounds COOL! I wonder if I can find one like it down the street...
Mauvais and Ruth, we have to dim sum again soon and pop into "Times Giftshop". A Chinese giftshop with the neatest stuff... Okay girls... everyone up to Ottawa for a dim sum blowout!! |
I want to live in your neighbourhood too! It sounds very cool. And I am too retiring to drop in! Actually our neighbours on both sides are a bit like me so we chat a tiny bit and then get on with being shy! (they are quite nice, it isn't that we aren't talking a lot cuz we are not getting along!)
I got the Buddha necklace at Value Village, where I get lots of good stuff. I couldn't believe someone wanted to get rid of it! Lidian:) |
People have stopped dropping in on me. Of course I DID stop answering the door a few years ago, which could have something to do with it. :D
I LOVE Value Village, Lidian! :) Your neighbours sound perfect. Friendly, yet not intrusive. I can't sit on my verandah without having to constantly interrupt my READING TIME in order to say hello to people. Maybe I'm just too darned friendly. |
I am closing this thread as it is getting a bit long :)
I did start a new chickchat thread for us this morning-see you there! Mauvais the moderator  (is that like Krull the Conqueror? or some other warrior type person - I know, I'll be a warrior goddess, yeah, that's the ticket! ) |
