I agree - my time is limited and in bits and pieces, and walking with a pedometer is very flexible - you can walk in place at home, and sometimes I just walk around the kitchen table (I believe that the Bronte sisters used to do this every evening, but they did not have pedometers to encourage them).
Ellis, my DD now wants a pedometer for her 10th birthday (she is impressed by the numbers and the cuteness of a little yellow compact-like clip-on thingie I think) - we'll see, it's not for 6 more months (hope mine's still working then!) Lidian |
Great Idea Guys..I will definitly try that! thanks!

Walked for an hour and 15 minutes in the muggy muggy air, felt like I was breathing in the mudd. I am not sure how far I walked but I find if I walk in a straight line as far as I can go away from my house when I get tired I still have to turn around and walk back home. (that or call a cab)
It is bad when you live somewhere that if you are walking the red-necks decide they need to stop and pick you up.... doesn't matter you have on exercise clothes and you are sweating bullets, they need to turn around on the road and ask you if you need a ride.... I swear to you, this happens at least one time every time I walk... do these people not know what exercise is? The guy today got pissed off and called me a few choice names... glad I walk with my cell phone. I had a pedometer, it had a little radio on it DD decided that she needed it... now I don't know where it is. |
Walking around with the pedometer, going up and down the stairs, and down to the basement, and back and forth from school, and to the store, etc etc. Must lie down on couch!

Another 20 minute walk at lunch. :)

Amy, I hear ya re: the rednecks. We lived in a small town for a few years, and I couldn't walk ANYWHERE without someone stopping to ask if I wanted a lift.
Lidian, my DD has been eyeing MY pedometer! :D I think I've convinced my Mom to bye one. Thanks to my determination to walk home from picking Dad up at the hospital with Mom, I have walked a grand total of 8285 steps so far today. It's ummm, 8:30 pm. Better than yesterday! Although I ate like a pig because I was worried about Dad. |
I mean buy.
|
That's wonderful Ellis, all that walking (& I am so glad your dear Dad is OK, I would've eaten a lot too - and did, with my mom awhile back...).
I walked around a lot too & my legs are telling me to sit or lie the h*** down so I am gonna do that. Lidian |
Thanks, Lidian. :)
You're all doing GREAT with the exercising, girls!! Keep it up!! :cb: Yesterday I walked 9200 steps. :D Today may be a snoozer. It's going to rain. Maybe I'll have to walk around the dining room table, Lidian. ;) |
