Oh dear! My evil twin had two Scotches before dinner. What a lush she is! Strictly medicinal, of course! Nothing like The Spirit to cure the runs.
|
hope ya'll can let a relative stranger jump in here. see, everyone thinks i'm perfect, but i'm not. absolutely not. [true confessions here ruthie!!!]
YESTERDAY: pork lo mein. pretzels. pistachio ice cream. FRIDAY: bagel, bread. butter. cream cheese. real preserves. now, let's not go into portion sizes because you'll all laugh me out of the forum, but i'm NOT supposed to be eating these things!!! whew!!! THAT FELT BETTER. |
Note to Alternachicks: This woman has absolutely disgusting eating habits but we should let her post because she is definitely an Alternachick.
|
Jiffypop, I insist on hearing the portion sizes. I'm in need of a good laugh. :D
|
rochemisy/chris-would you post the popeye reciepe already! I want to try it too!
|
i'm honored that ruthie considers me an alternchick... and here i thought i was only charming..
and ellis... i really hope you're sitting down... i had 1/2 of a bagel with all the insides torn out, 1/4 piece of bread, 2 tbs cream cheese, 1 tbs preserves. and then 3 pretzels, less than 1/4 c lo mein. and two teaspoons of pistachio ice cream. and today, 3 bite-size cookies, but otherwise things have been ok [20 gram protein shake, egg, 1/2 slice toast, some cheese, some ham, turkey jerky, lots of water, 1/2 piece of soy sausage. and a tangerine. not all at once. oh. and 3 soy pretzels and some leftover hunan lamb about 50 grams of protein so far, which puts me a little behind for the day, but there's still dinner and bedtime snack!] ok. you can laugh. just, please, don't throw anything at me! |
Well, I just remembered. After Church today we had a celebration of John's award and I ate a piece of chocolate cake with icing AND IT WAS DAMNED GOOD! It's the first piece of cake I've had in a year! We also had Bailey's in our coffee in honour of St. PAtrick. So there!
|
Yup, that's pretty funny, Jiffypop. ;) And anybody who Ruth considers an alternachick is OKAY WITH US!! :cb:
We went for our first picnic of the year today. With a barrel of KFC. Oh man... I feel SO sick. In fact, we all do. We never eat that stuff anymore, and it's a BAD idea!! :ink: |
picnic??? in canada??? with all that snow you've had?? unless you're in western canada.. or did you snowshoe to the picnic spot?
|
No, we're just weird. :D We always have a picnic on the first warmish weekend. We're in Ottawa, and we've got a SHIPLOAD of snow here, but it went up to 9 degrees C today (don't ask me to convert. Trust me... compared to -43 windchill, it was bloody balmy), and everything is starting to melt.
We just drove down to the river and watched the ducks coming in. :) DH wanted to lay a blanket on the snow to eat. I elected to eat in the car with the doors wide open. I'm not THAT weird! |
I would DIE at 9 degrees! I freeze up at 30! You guys are MUCH stronger than I am! We got 5 hours of snow here and schools were closed for 2 days! Our water pipes froze which totally pissed me off and the dogs and kids had to stay in which did not help matters! I love to see snow, but only on a vacation!!!
Ellis - we go on pic nics every sunday after Easter. They are wonderful! We go to this place called The Pocket. My hubby took me there when we were dating and we hiked the mountain. There are several waterfalls and we would stop and sit under them. Our kids do not appreciate it at all. They like to stay at the bottom of the mountain and play in the springs. Again too cold for me! Am I going to be this cold in Quebec in May?!?!?!?!? Ruthxxx - I bought ICE CREAM and ROOTBEER today for floats. It was WONDERFUL! |
Sarajane, your picnics sound wonderful. The only thing I hate about them is having to pee when there are no washrooms around.
|
OMG, Ellis. Did you never get the pee in the woods lesson from your parents? Let's go to the Arboretum and I'll teach you!
|
Oh yes, peeing in the woods - lots of fun! I am a city kid and I was horrified when DH and I started hiking years ago when we lived in Alberta, but he said I just had to learn and I did. And now my dear girls can do it too (still, it IS easier for DH, darn it!). We were reminiscing about last summer and the photos we want to take of us looking cool and outdoorsy and my youngest said, but not any pictures of us peeing in the woods. I said that would be fine!

This is the Pigs Anon thread though...and speaking of that, MY evil twin was eating chocolate eggs this weekend and I had to give the rest to the girls so that she would not eat absolutely all of them. I think she must have bought those eggs too, when I wasn't looking, because they certainly aren't on my menu!

Yesterday was a really bad food day. I would say probably the worst ? that I have had in a realllly long time.
I worked two 12's this weekend which was the first since like December and I forgot how completely tiring they can be. Saturday was an alright day but I ate a little later than was planned. Sunday, I ate a pretty decent breakfast but I wasn't able to squeeze in lunch because we were so busy... so about 3PM I started getting the stomach telling me HELLOOOOO..... I ended up eating a snack machine bag of BarBQ'd Fritos and a Twix and then went back and got a second bag of doritoes out of the vending machine. That held me over until I got off work and then I went to the store and got stuff for salads, some fruit and some skim milk and OJ... at the check out I got a diet coke and a Milky Way and ate it on the way home.... Then I had a salad and a sandwich when I got home... then later I snuck a couple of Ruffles and some Goldfish...... As a whole the day was shot just because of the junk that I ate. I eat bad when I am tired it is so frustrating... Amy |
I had TWO sushi rolls.... and a beer... and some onion rings... and another beer... and a glass (or three) of wine...
But lots of sex, so it equals out, right??? |
I don't know, Jessica. How long did the sex last? A couple of minutes doesn't burn much. :D
|
We spent every Easter in the woods and we slept on pinestraw under sleeping blankets and pee'd in the woods. It was always easier for the boys. My daughters Girl Scout Troop is going camping and they all cringed at the fact there is no restroom. None of them have ever peed in the woods. I remember more about the "chigger" bites off the pine needles! OUCH!!!
|
Oh darn, Ellis! And I thought I was doing good! ;) So, how long should it last to burn off those sushi rolls?
Well, the good news on the Pig Out Front for me was getting those evil evil evil girl scout cookies out of the house. I brought the whole shebang to a St. Patty's Day party, whew! They were causing me to have some serious control issues. However, at the party I had a ton of corned beef and about 5 homemade cookies (cookies are my downfall). |
My cookies went to PTO meeting last night at school. I have NEVER seen that many Girl Scout Cookies in my life. I guess everyone else feels the same.
But what is worse is I ate buttermilk biscuits tonight! It was so good. I may heat up one and cover it in blackberry preserves and french vanilla ice cream tonight! I just wont eat for the rest of the week....................... |
Worst going to the bathroom in the woods story I ever heard:
a friend of my parents was on a canoe trip, and the leaves she used were...... POISON IVY!!!! |
see why my idea of roughing it is a hotel without a bar???? good heavens!!! the woods are DANGEROUS... lions and tigers and bears and bugs and poison ivy and sprains and sweat and and and... well the list goes on!!!!
|
You know, there's a thingy you can buy now for women. Sort of a "funnel-type thingy" so that you don't have to squat.
Poison ivy. Oh lordy... shudder. And I hate not being able to wash my hands afterwards. I'm squeamish around people who don't wash their hands after peeing. |
Here it is! http://www.murrette.com/
|
Eek! Den... you literally just made me shudder with that one!
And Sarajane... Girl Scouts are evil pushers... and now they have Girl Scout cookie ice cream. UGH! Is it a bad thing when you buy Slimfast snack bars (I even chose the ones with the most fiber!!!) and then you eat like 4 of them in the span of about 2 hours? /sigh |
Lanula - Power bar has a new Pria bar that is sinful! They are only 2 points but I can 2-point them all day!
Ellis - I love it! I will have to get those for the camping moms. The girls are still young enough and limber enough to squat! Of course we will take the sanitizer gel and baby wipes. |
My evil twin Ruthless ate an English muffin last night with cream cheese and marmalade. (Gee, it was good!)
|
Lunula, I can NEVER have Slim Fast bars around cuz I WILL eat the whole box the same day...I used to eat whole boxes of Figurines too, does anyone remember them? They were like big wafer cookies and came in vanilla or chocolate. I just can't leave stuff like that alone! The flavors sound so good too, all that mocha deep fudge chocolate peanut butter whatever. It does not make ME slim down fast, that's for sure!
Lidian |
LOL, I'm normally pretty good with the Slimfast bars - I eat one per day at work as a mid-morning snack - but I just went nuts on that box this past weekend! And I've tried those Pria bars - I love them - can't remember what flavor it is that I like so much, but they're a great snack. The Pria bars are easier to control since you have to buy them separately... but those Slimfast bars come in a nice handy box of six, arg!
|
My favorite Pria is the French Vanilla Crisp. I like the Double Chocolate Cookie too! There are 3 others that I bought too, but I have not tried them yet.
|
The Kashi Go Lean bars are VERY filling. I have one with a cup of coffee for breakfast sometimes.
|
You know what else I eat too much of if it is around that is supposedly for weight watchers? Those Sweet Escapes bars and the little yogurt chews in the little bags, the name escapes me at the moment but there are chocolate/caramel bars too (the bars are 200 cals and the yogurt chews 150 a bag). I think I put on 10 lbs awhile back just from Sweet Escapes bars, which are just candy bars really.
Same thing with Snackwells, especially the mini chocolate chip cookies. I can empty a bag of those in half and hour, no problem! And about 3 years ago I had a stressful time where I was buying and EATING a WHOLE box of Snackwell sandwich cookies per day (after the kids were in bed and no one was watching of course). Ergh! Lidian |
I went to Sonic for lunch and had a real soda(lemon berry slushy) and a large onion ring and a grilled chicken. BUT I only ate 6 small rings and stuck the rest in the fridge. I will force Ri to have them so I don't touch the rest. I had ordered a small but he said a large would be WAY cheaper. So...I said okay. Dumb me! But they were yummy. No better way to eat your allowed fat for the day! It was hard stopping at 6, esp since there were at least 20 more in that bag!
|
I have had 3 completely crumby days... don't even want to post what I have eaten I am so ashamed :D
|
I had a wedding cake appt about 1 1/2 hours away yesterday so I stopped and got a turkey on wheat sandwich and ate while I drove. Then on the way back I stopped at Mc Donalds and got a McFlurry! I could not stop myself! I had Key Lime pie today! The :chef: was ragging me about the points the Key Lime took up! Truth be told, my stressed eating pattern today was probably caused by him!!!!! I always eat more when he annoys me.
I will try to do better tomorrow. |
We have a new grocery store in town and in the deli-salad section they sell rice pudding. My ultimate comfort food. I've had it twice in a week. I love rice pudding.
I cannot buy diet candy or cookies because somehow my brain fools me into thinking that there are no calories in them and I tend to eat far more than I would a regular cookie or snack. But I do love the Quaker rice snacks flavoured like salt and vinegar..... |
I am going to have to try the salt and vingar rice snacks. I love salt and vinegar. Yummy. And the best part, no one in this family will touch then so they are all mine!!!!
|
Dangit, if I give you all my address, could someone come over here and kick me in the butt a few times??
I had a horrible day yesterday... for what reason? I have no idea. I added all my calories into Fitday - and I had 3021 yesterday!!!!! I ate almost a pound of food - with no workout. Today I feel horrible - physically & mentally. I'm not gonna quit, and so far today I've done well & I'm going to workout after work... but ARG! I hate days like that!! :ink: = me |
Ah ~ one thing I learned on the Zone diet, is you can always start fresh the next meal. Not that I follow the Zone diet anymore, but that was a good lesson.
Don't beat yourself up about it, it doesn't help at all. Flower ~ that's one of the best parts about the S & V snacks: Nobody here will eat them but me either! They like my Tamari Garlic rice cakes, my melba toast, my hummus, my yogurt.... and so on. But the Salt and Vinegar Rice Snacks are MINE!!!! l |
