Default I won't believe it until...

I won't believe I've lost weight until I see a big loss, like 7lbs. I just started yesterday, so it's impossible that I'm already seeing results. The scale says I lost about 3lbs, but we're not sure how accurate it is. When is the best time to weigh?

People are generally lightest in the morning, heaviest in evening. What matters most is that you weigh yourself at the same time every day. Your weight fluctuates all day long. Many people shed pounds quickly in the beginning because they're losing water weight, so 3 lbs over night is tangible. Out of curiousity, what kind of plan are you on?

I'm trying to do WW core plan, following the old ways and ignoring the new Momentum stuff, which only confuses me. I'm trying to eat mostly whole foods, but it's hard to just jump into with both feet so I'm tapering off the boxed stuff.

In the morning, without clothes, after bathroom. Don't get too hung up on fluctuations (wish I'd listen to myself there!).

3lbs of water, while it's not fat, is still 3lbs of weight you're better off not carrying. Well done!

A lot of people find they lose a lot during the first week or two on a new plan. Sometimes it is water weight but it can be due to a sudden change in diet - i.e. you are cutting out a lot of junk food, sugar etc and your body is adjusting.

Congratulations! Keep going!

The scale says I've gained back three pounds - went from -10 to -7. Tell me this is normal

Thanks for the support everyone. I've been sticking to plan since I started, so I know I'm not doing anything wrong. I've started taking walks every day - could that have something to do with it?

Lotsa things can cause weight fluctuations. Salty foods, TOM, slow digesting meats, etc. I never really freak about a small gain unless it hangs around for a while, same goes for weight loss, I don't trust it unless it hangs around for a while. If you've been faithful, just keep at it and it will balance back out. It might help to include measurements too so you can see results the scale just can't give you.

LA weightloss has a little trick to get rid of water weight, counter-balance your salt intake by drinking lemon water. Take a whole lemon, cut it in half, squeeze the juice into a cup, toss in the lemons too and pour hot water over them. Stir and drink. My friend swears by it, I'm not sure of the science involved, but it feels healthy. I always added a packet of sweetener to it too.

It happens all the time. One day I'll weigh myself and see I've gained 5 lbs... But it disappears after a few days. Our bodies do funny things sometimes. Don't let it freak you out. :P

I always weigh at the same time. So if I weigh myself in the morning then every weigh in from that point on is a morning weigh in. I can fluctuate as much as 5lbs during the day.

I so agree my numbers can fluctuate during the day, I had to stop weighing daily because i would lose then gain and repeat now I am weighing about every three days and it seems to work,
I love the lemon water trick , been doing this today hope it helps.
