I can't work out without music, and the BPM's have to match PERFECTLY with my walking/running or it totally throws me off. I like to listen and run to the beat and just zone out.
I'll post my full list later, but one of my favorite bands to jog to is H.I.M. For example, "Right Here In My Arms" is such an awesome jogging song. And their new album has so many songs right in the perfect tempo. Plus... they're HIM. They're only the freaking best ever. My playlist would confuse a lot of people. I've got everything from HIM to Tool to Wham! to David Bowie, Billy Idol, Muse, Christina Aguilera, Das Tekno, Sum 41 -- Sum 41 is GREAT running music. **** Song for the win. Candyman by Christina Aguilera is a great one. Outkast! Hey Ya! Such a good running song. But my number one FAVORITE song to jog to right now is Magic by B.o.B. I sometimes run it through like three times in my jog. LOL |
A song I used to love doing push ups and sit ups to was I Want It All by k.d. lang. The beat is just right for this kind of exercise.
This time around I need to do more aerobic exercise so I made a CD of songs that are quite fast to move around to with a heavy 70s slant: heaven's in the back seat of my cadilac murder on the dancefloor there's more to love than boy meets girl diggin your scene let the music play love really hurts without you love me like I love you dress you up in my love virginia plain everyone's a winner baby love is the drug whispering your name the first the last my everything you sexy thing so you win again |
Any and all of the Mortal Kombat cds...yes...video games and movies. I swear by them.
|
i like anything that makes me want to dance around because my favorite exercise is to dance around my room mixed with some taibo karate yoga and gymnastics (yeah im weird) ok and my music taste is all over the place anyway

This is my Power Song. It's the best mash-up ever:
"Smells like bootylicious" by 2ManyDj's. I'm sure you can guess what two songs they uses. It gives me instant energy, haha. :-) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GXGSBpMHcpA |
I won't list specific songs. Otherwise, I will be here all day.
TooL, Puscifer In This Moment Halestorm P!nk Lady Gaga Britney (only when working out. It's weird, but she gets me pumped.) Fergie, BEP (again, only when working out.) |
Have you guys heard of Cherri Bomb? They remind me of The Runaways, or like a female version of Foo Fighters. Their whole album "This is The End of Control" is great to workout to!

A few other songs I love running to: Whipped Cream-Ludo The Tears-Robots In Disguise Men In Love-Gossip Dressed to Kill-Sharon Needles [edit]OH AND someone on Tumblr made this incredible mashup where they put Head Like a Whole over the tune of Call me Maybe. SO GOOD. |

I don't have a specific playlist, just stuff I like to hear.
For warmup, I like to listen to EDM. I'm really into Tiesto and Armin van Buren. When I'm into my cardio, I like Punjab bangra music. You cannot NOT smile while listening to Daler Mendhi! It's very danceable and happy. For lifting, I listen to my Finntroll, Korpiklaani, Cradle of Filth, Marylin Manson. I like something that still rocks, but on the mellower side, as I wind down. H.I.M., Sirenia, Tyr, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Zeppelin. Yes, I do love Scandinavian music. It's where all the best modern metal is coming from right now. |
Seriously been getting extra energy from Lady Gaga's "Applause". It's so powerful and makes me want to go longer and faster on the elliptical.
|
I've got a huuuge run playlist, but there are a few songs on there that when they come on, suddenly my legs aren't feeling tired at all anymore, and I get a fresh burst of energy
In no particular order, Animal by Conor Maynard My Songs Know What You Did In the Dark (Light Em Up) by Fallout Boy Teeth by Lady Gaga Closet Freak by Miss Lawrence Starships by Nicki Minaj No One Lives Forever by Oingo Boingo Dead Man's Party by Oingo Boingo Don't Stop Me Now by Queen Hungry For Heaven by Dio Hardcore Girls by Rye Rye Lonely Boy by The Black Keys |
Ready to go - Republica
Rock what ya got - Superchick Jock Jam's version of "Jellyhead" by Crush Road to Paradise - Tat I see girls - Tom Nevill Lots of songs by "The pretty reckless" |
Oh, and I'm a bit embarrassed by this one, but Selena Gomez "Come and get it." So...not all alternative. Haha
|
ANYTHING by the Dead Kennedys! I need that hardcore edge to make me run faster on that treadmill.
Although... I do love Eye of the Tiger by Survivor! :3 |
Almost anything by Halestorm, especially Dirty Work, You call me a B**** like it's a bad thing, and Mz Hyde
Sink into me by Taking Back Sunday Also I like to throw it back and jam to Untouched by the Veronicas. ;) |
Mostly when I work out, I'm either listening to the album Nemesis by Stratovarius or just about anything by Sabaton. Right now it's the Art of War album by Sabaton on repeat
|
Artists I've enjoyed working out to: Devo, The Screamers, Liquid Liquid, Cabaret Voltaire, Stephen Mallender, Pere Ubu, Einsturzende Neubauten, Young Marble Giants, Sex Gang Children.
