Hey everyone! I know it's been FOREVER, and I apologize -- preemie baby in the family with some surgeries and illness kind of sidetracked me, along with work and feeling wiped out too much of the time from long nights of work/short nights of sleep, then feeling overwhelmed and guilty at how far behind I was and not having time to catch up on the posts. I'm just now getting a chance to read all of December's posts and catch up, so I'll send another message when I have replies (but that requires reading first LOL). I woke up today to no work availabe, at least for now, so I'm taking advantage of that and getting back in gear here with 3FC and my committment to diet and exercise. I didn't stop completely, but lost some motivation around Thanksgiving...not sure why...but sampling things I would have flat out said no to before, and eating things that weren't so healthy. No exercise due to work...though the last couple of days my weight has been where it was a month ago (after bouncing up 3 lbs), so other than blood sugar levels, I think I came through relatively unscathed. I'm hopeful that reading posts and keeping in touch with all of you will get me back in the right mindset and keep me on track. :-)

Where is Zoe?

I haven't read any posts yet but will go back and do so. I just wanted to check in and wish everyone a Merry Christmas, albeit a day late. So here goes: Merry Christmas.

Will be back.

Marie, I’m never bored, lol. I’ve usually got several irons in the fire at one time. Congrats on that pound loss.

Rie, those Random Acts of Kindness were such lovely gestures. No wonder you felt so good. It’s too bad many people only do them at Christmas.

Carol Sue, so glad you’re feeling so much better. It’s amazing how the body heals.

Oh, Nancy, my heart goes out to you. I can’t imagine what you’re going through but you will be in my thoughts and prayers.

Freda, sending you and your husband condolences. So sad at any time of year but especially so around holidays. And the poor little doggie who doesn’t understand...

Hello, Bobbi. I’m not having any trouble with 3FC site. I’m using Firefox. I wonder what’s up? I run two browsers occasionally. One of my bank accounts will only open in IE. But for everything else I use Firefox.

Donna, thank you for reminding everyone that Christmas calories are non-existent. That is very good as it is now December 26 and I would have consumed a great many if it were not for that holiday rule. :)

Happy holidays to you Chickadee. Hope you had a good time.

Karen3, you frightened me. I thought you ended up in jail when you said you “got locked up yet again.” Then I realized you were talking about 3FC.

Karen31, Merry Christmas to you.

Mary, what is rice cake? Do tell us how it’s made. And I know what you mean about the doctor. I haven’t been to mine in a while and she’s going to give me heck for the weight gain.

Gayle, hope your Christmas was wonderful.

Darcy, a preemie baby would certainly keep you busy and away from 3FC. Is it a grandchild? Hope everything is well with the baby. A new year is on the horizon and we’ll all make a new start. I certainly need to get back on track as well.

DH and I had a pretty quiet Christmas Day all by ourselves. MIL wouldn’t go to anyone’s house for Christmas dinner but we took her visiting for a little while in the afternoon. I asked her what she had for dinner and she said nothing. Some days I’d like to grab that woman and give her a good knock up the side of her head. She has 6 children in town and many grown grandchildren and would not go to anyone’s home for dinner. She had lots of invitations. I cooked her turkey, dressing and gravy on Christmas Eve so she had lots of food in the house...sigh...I put some left-over potatoes and vegetables on a plate and gave it to her to have with her turkey for supper. The plate came back today, empty. Today our DS and DIL came for dinner. We had left-overs stretched out with a casserole dish of macaroni and cheese, and a scalloped zucchini dish. We finished it off with homemade ice cream and a Yule Log cake I’d made. Just as we were finishing up DH’s brother and wife dropped by and had some of the macaroni, as well. I’ve never made macaroni and cheese at Christmas time before but it was a nice change from all the other stuff we’d eaten. DS and DIL then left to visit with her family and we visited my BIL and wife for a while. Now I’m just like a slug on the couch wondering if I’ll have another piece of cake. It must be all gone by the new year.

All the best to all of you, and to all of you who I did not mention by name. Catch you all later.

I hate this, someone please tell me how to set up two accounts, Foxfire. I already have google chrome. I still can't scroll post without that stupid hour glass, delayed action on my typing. I set up my new graph chart, redid my Fitday account. Tomorrow I'll join someone's challenge. Can't today, one more Christmas party. My left eye has been out of focus for a whole week now, DH will take me in to see a doctor tomorrow if they can work me in. Weird, I think I stressed them out last week quilting.
Later Gators

Bobbi, just google Mozilla Firefox, and the link will take you to their site. Download, and you're good to go.

Here I am Isabella - thanks for asking. I hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas - and a happy new year to one and all!

No snow here yet - it's like a dream come true!

Condolences, Freda - so sorry for your loss.

Nancy, sorry for your troubles. We've all lived long enough at this point to know that these things work their way out, and usually for the better. Sometimes, anger is a healthy thing, you know....no you DON'T deserve to be treated that way!

Z

Bobbi, I agree with Jess, I am now using Firefox for just 3 FC and not problems anymore.

Hi Zoe!

I'm on my way to DS the Elder's place for a couple of days. We'll play with Boo for awhile and then come back to our empty place. But there's no place like home.

Today I have a doctor's appointment, expecting to get the staples out. I don't think the incisions are healing as fast as they should, or should I say, as fast as they did the last time. So we shall see what he thinks.

I had a nice Christmas. Although I only invited my step-daughter and her husband, DH invited his widowed brother, and when the younger brother head that the older brother was here, he came too, with his wife. I didn't really mind. I had a baked ham and potato salad, cookies, and chips. I was in a pair of sweats and a tee shirt, not really expecting company, but that's ok. No one seemed to mind and all had a good time. They helped themselves, and I didn't have to entertain. Since MIL passed away, our house seems to have become the hub for holidays, because DH wants to stay home on holidays and won't go to anyone else's house. It's nice to know that they all feel comfortable coming here.

Gayle, I love talapia and have ordered it out...some I liked, some I didn't. It depends on what seasonings they use. I bought some and baked a piece for myself (DH won't eat it) and it was good, but I didn't know what seasonings to use on it besides salt and pepper. It is very light, and diet friendly.

I had lost 14 lbs and have now gained back two of them as of this morning. So that's the end of the post-surgery weight loss and now it's time to start back on watching what I eat. It was fun while it lasted. It could be a couple lbs of water weight from eating ham. But I am determined not t gain all this back. I would be very depressed.

Have a good day, all!

Okay girls, I see that I can use two browser but need some more information before I install Foxfire. How do you switch from IE to Foxfire after it's installed? If I click on the 3fc site, where do I switch over. I get on the 3fc's site through my email. I don't know how this works?

Karen31 12-27-2011 10:48 AM

Good Morning! I'm thinking about the Firefox thing too... Right now I am using IE9 and have no trouble except for the 3FC site. I am leary of adding another browser since I don't know how that works.. I use Vista on my desktop and have Windows 7 on my laptop. have trouble with 3fc on both OS. Any advice would be great.. If you can, maybe send a nice "detailed" email ... who knows how long it will be before I can get back on here.

Better get going the movers will be here in about 10 minutes to give us a quote. Be back later.

Donna and Chicky ~ could you help those of us who don't know what we're doing with this firefox thing ~ how do you switch from one to the other etc. Maybe if you could (like CK suggested) write us some instructions ~ maybe send it through e-mail, or on the FB in case we can't get on here to get it. I wish 3FC could get this figured out and fixed. I miss it so.

jess1 12-27-2011 01:08 PM

Okay, everybody, take a deep breath. After you download Firefox, you'll have an icon on your desktop. Just click that to open the browser. If you're using Firefox just for 3FC, you can close the browser (the big red x at the top of the page) when you're finished. Bobbi, you can access 3FC by typing in www.3fatchicks.com and then act as if you've not been here before (forum: search: december golden girls) for the first time.

You can keep both IE and Firefox running at the same time, if you want; I've never had a problem with it.

Does that help??

Mom2TCS 12-27-2011 01:17 PM

Hey guys, I'm not Donna or Chicky, so pardon the intrusion, but I've used Firefox before due to one of my programs for work not working with IE. For me, anyway, it's just like opening another program. I click on the icon for Firefox that's in my start menu (or on the desktop) and it opens. It IS a nice browser. :-) You can go to the 3FC site once and then bookmark the site so it's easy to come back to. Switching from Firefox to IE is as simple as clicking a tab at the bottom of your window, like you would to switch from Word to IE or any other program you have open!

Hope that helps!

Got on mainly to see whether I would have any problems with site and I am still not having any trouble. It's strange how so many are. I'm having a busy day and still not completely over this pain thing, so will keep this short. I am getting better slowly.
