Yup! I have the book -- have read it twice!
I've been out and about a lot the last few days and have been using the quick meal plan (starbucks+taco bell) for some reason I feel like I'm cheating!

I was just at a BBQ and managed to resist the hint of lime tortilla chips (my favorite!). Instead I ate broccoli w/ a sour cream dip. And that's it!

Yay, me!

Thanks for the welcome!

Hello coloradolivin,
Sounds like you did great at the BBQ.I went out to dinner with my husband and I had grilled chicken fingers, broccoli, side salad and baked potato. Today I cooked up a big pan of ground turkey,added some onions & green peppers,chillies and salsa. I can make soft Tacos and top salads for most of the week. Sunday I will cook a Turkey breast, maybe some green beans.

Tomorrow I want to go for a long walk as well in the am, I really need to get back into exercising.

I received my book yesterday. It is a gently used copy I found online. I will probably start to read it today.

Hi everyone,

Although I too have fallen short of my goal, I'm still hanging in there and at least can say goodbye to the 170's. I was also out of town for half the month which made it tough.

It took me a while to get my head wrapped around the whole idea of avoiding sugars, artificial sweeteners, and fruit, but it's become the norm now and I've stocked up on Stevia and read all labels before buying. I'm looking forward to losing even more in August (10 pounds?) as my BF is planning a family reunion the weekend of Labor Day and I'd like to be slimmer by then. What do you guys think about a Labor Day Challenge? :-)

Fruit has always been a problem for me. Not because of the sugar, but because I have never really liked fruit very much, and all my life everone tells me to eat lots of fruits and vegetables to be healthy. I've always liked a lot of veggies, but ever since I had to watch my weight, I've been trying to force myself to eat fruit. Now I'm hearing I should stay away from fruit, which is what I've really wanted to do all along! See? I knew!! I was diagnosed with diabetes 3 years ago and fruit really raises my BS. The only thing I really miss is grapefruit juice. I love it, and I can't drink it because it interacts with one of my meds.

Hello Everyone,
Great to hear from all of you and Jane!
Webwoman great idea! Let us continue with Part 2 of BFC challenge...but call it the BFC Labor Day Challenge. Everyone can partisipate no matter what plan they are on. The Challenge can start Monday. I am headed to the beach Labor Day weekend and 10lbs would be awesome! I am in! I can post the heading as Part 2 "BFC Labor Day Challenge" unless you want to do another thread. Let me know...ok. Now as to the fruit, I can't live without it or at least a little of it.

I would like to participate in the Labor Day Challenge. I can't imagine losing 10 lbs in a month, but that's why it's called a "challenge", right? I'm in!

I have the BFC book, but it's been sitting on the shelf for months collecting dust. I just happened to come across this thread and got my book out. Do you mind if I join your Labor Day challenge? It will give me the incentive to stay on track.

Arrow BFC Challenge & Beyond Part II "Labor Day Challenge"

Aleka! Glad to have you. Ok Part II of BFC starts Monday
Aug.1st. We will name it BFC Part II" Labor Day Challenge" as suggested by Webwoman.
We all can check in and help give support as needed. Everyone is welcome as stated no matter the plan. We can all add something to help others. I encourage each of you to post your suggestions to help with reaching our 10lb. goal by end of August. Please post stats and weigh in on Mondays. We all can really get excited and expect great results, even if things went slow the first month. If you stick with the plan and follow guide lines; you could be 4 to 9lbs. thinner by next Monday. I personally challenge each of you to post each day and share something and encourage others. I am challenging myself and others to stick strickly on plan This week and lets see what happens.

CW=220
GW=210-Aug.31

I think we deserve a new thread, under Age 50+ for the Labor Day challenge so the thread is easier for people to find. BCL, could you start a new thread called "BFC Labor Day Challenge All are Welcome!" ? I think we'll get more participants that way.
Thanks!
