  • Hi,
This is my first post on this site. I just thought it looked like a cool place to ask quetions, share stories, see how other people are coping with weight loss, etc.
I have been going to MRC since Nov. 2009. I have lost 48 lbs and 43 inches so far. I hope to lose 2 lbs this week, so I'm able to sign the "50 lb. board". I'm pretty excited, since I vowed if this program didn't work, I was done.......and would just stay fat the rest of my life. Fortunately this is working.
I work full time, love my job and the people I work with, but retirement sounds "sweeeet"!
My main goal right now, is to stay on program and lose as much as I can by the end of July, when I travel back East (I live on th West Coast, in Oregon) for my 45 year high school reunion. I didn't think of that when I started this journey. My main reason for it was the shape of my knees. They hurt a lot less.
Anyway, enough for now, I need to get back to work.
  • to 3FC, and especially to this forum. Many of us here are worried about our knees, lol. A big YAY to you, losing nearly 50 pounds, and 43 inches! What an accomplishment! There are two main threads here, for sharing our experiences, giving and getting support, and making friends. The Golden Girls, and the Daily Chat threads would each welcome you, so please just jump right in, and make yourself at home.
  • Welcome Taxigirl:

Congrats on your weight loss. I get just excited about the inches lost. My knees bother me sometimes, but I hate when I get on the floor and then have a hard time getting back up.

You will look fantastic for your reunion, cheers to you for not giving up!

  • Thanks for your comments. It's really exciting for me. I've gained and lost so many times in this journey. I feel that this is the final time for me. I feel so much better and the weight is still coming off. I didn't think I would lose last week due to the fact I was a little off program. But, I stepped on the scales and lost 1/2 lb. It doesn't seem like much, but it was a great feeling to have a loss when I was expecting to stay the same or maybe have a gain. After all, that is 2 cubes of butter gone for good!! Yay!! I'm back on program, and am confident I can take off that 1 1/2 lbs. I need to make the 50 lb. mark.
  • Here I am again. I've been so busy, I haven't had much time to get on the computer. I got engaged last night (Sun.the 23rd) I really didn't think I would remarry at this age, but what the hey? I'm pretty excited, don't know exactly when yet, but I would kind of like to be at goal by then. I weighed in on Friday and lost 3.5 lbs. EXCITING!! This is the easiest and most successful weight loss program I've been on (I've tried a lot of them). I have now lost 52 lbs. My goal is to lose 23 more lbs. and see if that's a comfortable weight. Thanks for all the encouraging comments!
So many people have told me not to bother, since it's almost impossible to lose weight after "60". Now I tell them Bull.........I'm doing it. It can be done!
  • on your engagement! How exciting for you.
