Hello from FL -

We have a BEAUTIFUL house for our Cousin's Reunion.

The ride from PA to St. Augustine is LONG. My knee is pretty stiff. I think we're going to a museum today - supposed to rain.

Have a good Sunday,

Lynn

We has SUCH a fun day yesterday! Took the grandkiddos to the Boston Museum of Science, which is quite wonderful, but would require days and days and maybe even weeks and weeks to properly see and appreciate everything, so we shall be returning at some to-be-determined future date. We stayed at the museum from noon until almost 4:00 and then left the car in the Museum parking garage and walked the mile or so to Quincy Market, which for those who have never heard of it, is a huge in-and-0utdoor marketplace in the historic district where you can buy a variety of interesting things from street vendors, watch street performers, and just generally mingle with the diverse and colorful crowds. http://www.faneuilhallmarketplace.com/?q=visitor WE ate there, bought some stuff, played around, acted silly, and then took the train back to the Museum of Science and drove home. What a fun, fun, FUN day! I really LOVE these trips with our little kiddos! :twirly:Oh, LOTS of exercise and we were both bone tired when we got home, but I slept for 9 hours and feel okay now (2nd cup of coffee in hand). We plan to go do some walking outside today too - it's cooler than yesterday, but still nice and sunny. (Hooray!) Oh - I didn't eat TOO much when we were out yesterday - in fact, didn't eat anything at all from any of the vendors at QM because I just can't bring myself to eat stuff anymore whose origins I can't be sure of. I know...I'm getting a little weird about it, but I can't help it. The one thing that I did have was an ice cream cone, which was delicious and probably constituted most of my calorie ration for the whole day, anyway! I'm trying to post a few pictures. We'll see what happens.
Yo, PT...are you snowed in? Omigawd, I shudder to think that we might get another snow storm! I am loving the warm(er) weather! Keep warm, you hear?
Isabella! SO glad that you're back! We've all missed you!
Lynn, have a lovely time in FL, m'dear! I can't wait to take some vacation time! :dancer:
(Bobbi must be at church). I'm looking forward to seeing your pictures of your room filled with creative ideas!
Oh, Karen! Finally! I'm SO happy for you! You've waited a long time to be rid of that house!
So where are you, Georgia?
Keep up the good work, Rosey! It'll pay off!!!
Hi Freda! How are you today?
Linda? Haven't heard from you lately? What's happening out in sunny California?
Hi Coralee!
Okay, I need a bath, people. I was too tired when we got home last night. Phew!
Have a great Sunday!

Good morning, All...

PT, you and your family are PERFECT! Looks like a lovely day outside, glad you had so much fun!

Snow is all melted off the streets and sidewalks. It was really wet, and yesterday's chilly temps were still enough to melt. Supposed to be in the high 60's tomorrow. Snow again in a few days... Colorado weather is insane!

Status quo here, all is fine... Lynn, enjoy!

Warm and safe, my friends...

Hello Golden Girls, We have Donnas snow here now.... Tomorrow is supposed to be really nice again and no more snow! I can't believe there has been that much snow here.

Donna, I would love to meet you too. I will have to swap phone numbers with you when in an email. I think at this time the closing will be on April
28th. Not for sure just when we will be coming out but know that it will be before then to get the things done that we need to do before closing. Will let you know more later.

Zoe, looks like you and the family had a great time! I miss being able to do that-- my grandkids are in Colorado and Florida!~

Lynn, hope you are having a good time.

Rosey, keep us updated on how things are going. Some Dr.s have no SENSE when it comes to talking to a patient but can be excellent Dr.s.

Better get busy. Take care.

geoblewis 03-21-2010 12:48 PM

I'm here, Ella! :coffee:A late Sunday morning post, before I've had my coffee...hope I'm coherent. (You did have a fun day! I want to come next time! Then you can come here and we can do it all in San Francisco.)

Sorry I haven't been around recently. Life full and busy. Happy to report wrist all better and doctor is going to let me start a new beginner Pilates class at the end of the month. In the meantime, I'm doing some physical therapy to strengthen my wrists and shoulders, and I'm making a point of walking to the store, with my funky old lady cart, to do my marketing. It's gorgeous outside now, in the low 70s, flowers in bloom. No excuses!

I've been on WW for a month now. During the first two weeks I lost 2 lbs, then nothing else. So I switched to vegetarian WW and I've lost another 3 lbs. And I'm finally on track with daily points without feeling deprived. We'll see how this continues for me. The day I break 300 lbs is when I'll do my big victory dance. Would love if that would happen for my by the end of May.

I got a job this week. Well, a project. A friend I've known since middle-school owns the local healthfood store, and she has a second store in another town an hour away. I have the opportunity to redesign her website. She's been doing it herself, and it shows. You can see it here. I'll let you know when it's all done and you can check it out. I'm hoping I can parlay this project into a series of re-vamped websites for small business owners. And I've decided they can pay me in goods/services instead of cash. I can do this sort of work at home, while I'm home schooling my son, and still be free to help my parents.

And, I can exercise all I want in throughout the day! I am most excited about that.:carrot:

I have to wake up boys that are hung over from a night-long XBox bash. They don't know it yet, but they're going to wash pots and pans today. Back to the cold, harsh reality of Hormonal Mom!

ToBThinAgain 03-21-2010 04:36 PM

Georgia, I was a homeschool mom too! Nine years. Also a webdesigner. I love your friend's logo! Glad she's getting a professional redesign.

Happy Springtime, everyone! This morning I woke up to a world that's warm enough for shorts. Good thing, because the cold mornings discourage me from doing any yoga.

I haven't lost anything; in fact I'm two to three pounds heavier than my signature shows. It is very discouraging. I'm going to have to resort to drastic measures to get down into the 220s. At least I still fit into the smaller pants.

Good morning gals. Where is everyone today? It's cold here today but really nice and sunny. I got up early, had breakfast with DH, went for my walk, the grocery store, put the fire in the furnace, had a shower and put in a load of wash all before 9:15 am. Now I'm going to spend half an hour trying to screw a cup hook in the inside of the cupboard door. That wood is really hard.

Hope everyone is going to have a good day. I'll be back later on.

Bobbolink 03-22-2010 09:44 AM

Good Morning!
Isabella...glad to see you back, darn computers. I hate when mine has to go into the shop for adjustment. I always had my nose in a mystery novel before computer days, now I don't read as much. I keep a novel set up in front of my stepper downstairs, that's the only way I'll get on it. I hate exercising. I would love to walk like you do but can't on our gravel road. :(Who was it that installed Windows 7?
I need to ask you some questions, yesterday on TV they said it was crash proof. Really???
I was very naughty yesterday, no wonder I put weight on IF I stop counting calories. On saturday I was watching a program on the food channel about a bakery and making fried apple fritters. That got my mouth salivating because I can't resist them. Our church has a coffee and sweet roll/muffin time for those who like to visit before chruch. I stopped for a cup of coffee and what do I see staring at me, 3 beautiful, shiny apple fritters calling my name. Yes, I ate one! Then for afternoon coffee at my dad's place was cherry pie.:D Yes, I had a slice. DH wanted Reuben sandwiches for supper last night so I made those with our left-over corn beef roast. I must have cut off 2 pounds of fat before I cooked it a couple of days ago, man there're fatty. So yesterday was a high calorie day, but I save Sundays for my free day of foods, no exercise or journaling. I like to stay at 130 but try to keep my weight at 128 so I can splurge on Sundays. It seems to be working for me, I just have to keep journaling. I'm surprised more people haven't joined Lynn's latest thread to keep track of their carbs/calories/points. Spring is here and we want to look good in our light weight clothes. No more heavy jackets or sweaters to hide under.
Zoe...What fun you and DH have with the grands. You did well with not eating any of the fares, looks like a interesting market.
Karen...congrats on finally selling your Colorado home, now you can check that worry off your check list.
Linda...warm enough for shorts huh, we're going to get up to the 50's today, yipee!
Jess...enjoy your sunshine today, did you live close to Karen's place?
Georgia...What's a funky old lady cart?

Good Morning, All...
Everyone must be very busy, this lovely, lovely Monday morning!

Bobbi, no, I live in Denver, but the Manitou Springs suggestion I had for Karen is midway between her cabin and my house. An hour or so drive is no biggie here; it often takes an hour to get from one end of Denver to another! I think it would be such fun to meet! Hey, come one, come all... and you'd all LOVE that salad!!

Got my hairs cut today. Maybe I'll have a good hair day, finally!

All is well here. Hope all is well for everyone. Warm and safe, my lovelies!

good afternoon ladies,

A little cooler here today, so i'm walking inside on the treadmill. I'm up to 1/2 hour a day now, so I'm happy. Still have 15 mind. a day to go but i'm in nor hurry to get there. I know I will. My leg still hurts at night after I walk, but it does anyway, so I might as well walk!

Z, you and the Grands look like you're having a wonderful time. Aren't they fun? I took mine to the movies this weekend to see "Diary of a whimpey kid". the kids thought it was hilarious. Me, just not too bad. We did get some good discussion out of it though, about loyalty and friendship, so it served a good purpose.

Karen, I know you are happy to get the house sold.

Georgia, let us know when you break 300 and we'll all do a victory dance with you. Party!!!

Linda, shorts? what are shorts? Oh, yes, I think I can remember shorts....

Ok, Isabella, after reading your post I feel lazy and tired! Where do you get all that energy lady?

Bobbi, I too am interested in whoever installed Windows 7. I have Vista and it terribly un-user friendly. Especially when you're bad to start with.

Donna, I need a hair cut too. And some color on this (natural) blond.

Everyone make it a good day,

Freda

Oh, PT, NO family is perfect, and mine isn’t, either. There have been many up and down years, believe me. My ex is bonkers, and it took me way too long to figure out that it really WAS him, and not me – you know how we women tend to hold ourselves responsible for everything, and HATE the thought of failing at anything! My first marriage was a real disaster (although it DID produce four amazing children) and I took my time and got real picky about the second time around. Stayed on my own for a good long time, and was actually pretty happy with my life as a single person. But yeah, right now all is pretty good. Knock on wood. I think we just never know what may be around the next corner, so it’s best to get the most out of “now”, y’know? BTW, are you going to take a new picture with your new hair? We’d love to see it! :D
Good grief, Karen! Didn’t you put in your order for swimming pool weather yet? Better get that in, girl….we all look better with a little rosey glow, dontcha think? (Omigawd, I swear I’ll SHOOT myself if we get any more snow! Okay. I won’t shoot myself. Who should I shoot? There must be somebody to blame it on! :?:)
Okay, Georgia. Those descriptions of the weather out there are maybe just a mite too graphic, okay? Could you tone down some of the gorgeousness? We had a nice weekend, but it’s raining again today with more flood warnings for tonight. Maybe I should start building an ark? Oh, no. I could never handle all those animals! If it’s all the same, methinks just a simple raft with an umbrella table and laptop. :comp: <--- picture me like this on a raft.
Shorts, huh, Linda? Oh, yeah. When pigs fly, maybe. Nuh-uh. Won’t catch me in a pair of shorts, nosiree. Crop pants. Nice, wide-legged linen crop pants, if you please. Maybe some stretchy bike pants (calf-length) if my bulges are behaving on any given day. But shorts? Gasp. :o Now shorts WEATHER, okay, maybe. But I wouldn’t want anybody thinking that I was going to pour my generously endowed self into a pair of shorts anytime soon. Omigawd. When will I get old enough to not give a darn? At this rate, I’ll be hitting up on a hundred and still counting freaking calories!
Oh, good, Isabella. I’m sitting here moaning and groaning because my legs are sore from all those miles we walked on Saturday, and then again at the park for two hours yesterday afternoon with my daughter, her DH, the twins & my DGD and DH. I’m bone tired here, and you sound as peppy as the ever ready bunny, for Pete’s sake! It’s making me yawn just READING about all your exercise and activity! (Good going, though!) :running: <--- Isabella!
Bobbi, the good thing about your little indulgences is that you can eat something sweet and then be right back OP so quick that it’s hardly noticeable that you ever jumped off. You actually know when to stop. Me? When I overeat, it lasts for DAYS!
Hi Freda, yep, we have great fun with those kids – and I like the lessons to be learned from our little chats. Being grandparents is soooooo neat, isn’t it?
Well, I will be heading out into the rainstorm in another few minutes. :rain: Ack.
Have a good afternoon and evening, all -
:grouphug:

It was me...:wave:I installed Windows 7 and it's working great. I had Vista and had to continuously uninstall, wipe files and reinstall my Adobe Creative Suite 3 software all the time. Very frustrating since I had to do it every month almost since I bought my laptop with Vista preinstalled. Now everything works great and I'm even considering not upgrading to CS4 (or 5). Everything else works fine too.

You have to understand that not all computer problems are software or operating system problems. There are also hardware problems. If you don't have enough RAM but are running a lot of programs, that'll contribute to sucking the life out of your equipment.

Oooo, I sound so techy, like I know what I'm talking about...

ladyinweighting 03-22-2010 07:13 PM

Hi Everyone,

Cold and rainy here in FL. Having a nice time with my cousins. Knee is still achey.

Lynn

retiredone 03-22-2010 08:19 PM

I'm back again. I had quite a burst of energy today. Most days I just think about doing housework and then don't. Ha, ha. It must be Spring. I also cleaned a couple of small cupboards, made dinner and then crashed on the couch for a nap until the neighbor phoned and woke me up. I just vegged out this afternoon and watched The Birdman of Alcatraz with Burt Lancaster and Karl Malden. After supper I hemmed a couple pairs of jeans and did a little sewing. I think I'll go to bed early tonight and get up early again tomorrow morning. DH will be gone all day tomorrow and the rest of the week. He does fill in janitorial work with the school board and will be doing that along with the bus driving. So I'll have the days to myself this week. :)

Got good news today. :carrot: My new laptop will be here Friday. It has Windows 7. Both DSs told me not to get anything with Vista but I guess most new computers have the Windows 7 on them now. I'll be happy to have a full sized keyboard again with all the keys in the right places. Every time I think I'm pressing the "shift" key I'm actually hitting the "enter" key and I end up on a new line instead of getting a capital letter. But I won't complain because DS was very kind to lend me this little notebook until I have my new laptop.

You may notice I'm not doing many or any personals and that is because this screen and the print is so small. It just barely contains the reply box and the mouse is so touchy that I keep opening up links that the mouse skimmed over on its own. So I'm trying to keep it general so I don't lose my mind trying to find things with this little screen and very energetic mouse.

Anyhoo, catch you all tomorrow.
