Evening ladies,
Linda--I love the name of the soup. Will have to try it! Jane--Congratulations! Yippee, Skippy for you on your loss!!! Also, thank you for the name of the knitting books. Will look for them at the book fair coming up. I keep a running list in my purse too. Going to take off tomorrow till Wednesday. DH is taking me to Disneyland for a couple days for my BD that's coming up in a couple weeks. I love Disneyland!! Going to try to stay on my program and not gain! But I know how to eat, so I'll be fine. Had a good day today, just relaxing. I even put my paint brushes aside for the day. Will have a lot of posts to catch up to when I get back. See everyone in a few days. Carol |
Carol, have a wonderful time in Disneyland and Happy Birthday!
|
Hi ladies,
Linda - did you have fun with your DD and DGD? Lasagna sounds great - especially the butternut squash kind. Carol - you will be missed here, but have a good time, and a wonderful birthday celebration! I am a Disney World nut, and have my 11th trip plans in the works for next year at this time. Yay for your determination to stay OP while you're gone. Tell Mickey I said hi! :D Trish - hope you're having a good weekend. Caylin and I had lots of fun. She got to decorate the bread crumb canister, finally. The play last night was so very good! I just love a good comedy. Today I'm going to an auction. Not looking for anything specific, it's mainly a social thing, since lots of my friends and relatives will be there. I'm fixing turkey sausage and sauerkraut (per Neal's request) in the crock pot while I'm gone, and will make a big tossed salad, too. The calories will be fine, thanks to portion control, but the sodium will be high, so I'll have to drink lots of water! Might pop a Phazyme, too, lol. Have a good day, ladies! |
Jane, we had a lot of fun yesterday, playing games on the Wii. My DD brought the new Winter Olympics game with her, and it felt like we were actually in Vancouver. That Wii is pretty amazing, everything you can do with it. I'm really glad we got one, it was money well-spent.
This morning we had our taxes done, and that's a relief to have them out of the way. A friend of Jake's is an accountant and has been doing our taxes for years, and he comes right to the house. All I have to do is feed him, and he's happy. Afterwards, we went to BJ's to pick up a few things, then spent the rest of the day at home. My son and his family are always here for Sunday supper, but they didn't come today, and I'm a little annoyed that they never even bothered to call. Oh, well, Jake and I had a pleasant, quiet meal while watching the hockey game. :) I'm looking forward to watching the closing ceremonies tonight, but I HAVE to watch The Amazing Race first, and turn on the Olympics afterwards. Have a nice evening, everyone! |
Jane & Linda I envy you having your children and grands so close. Glad you had fun with them.
Carol Hope you have a great birthday and enjoy your fun at Disney. We went to church this morning even though my sinuses are driving me nuts today. We decided to stay home tonight since I'm experiencing itchy watering eyes. Don't have any idea what is in the air. However, I thought I was out of my meds for 2 or 3 days and used a different kind that obviously does me no good whatsoever. Then this morning, I found I had another box. It will probably take me a few days to get my original meds back into my system. It is across the counter meds not a prescription, but limited as to how many you can purchase each month and has to be signed for. I will have to get another box when I go to Wally world tomorrow. I don't want to run out of them with spring coming sometime in the future... I hope.:dizzy: Well I too am waiting for the closing celebrations of the Olympics. Hockey game didn't go the way we wanted it here in USA, but the guys played a really good game. They definitely can be proud of themselves. I am back on CAD and I am not only totally committed, I am totally enjoying it. This is how I lost almost 70 lbs 7 years ago. For some reason during the past 6 years after I got off the plan (can't remember why I ever got off something that worked so well for me), no matter how hard or how often I tried I just never could get back on the plan. Thus I gained almost all of the weight back. Suddenly 2 days ago, I found myself back on CAD and totally committed. I think I had to go through all the things I have trying other diets in the past 6 years to get to this place. I've learned a lot on those other plans that are helping me with this plan. Just sharing where I am and what I've learned. Got Sansone dvd Friday and did the exercise Saturday. I have really been sore today, but that will go away. I plan to do a minimum of 3 days a week and hope to eventually do 5 of course that depends on my back and hip. WATP tape usually helps both feel better in time. I'm hoping it still will. Hope everyone else is doing good. Catch ya' later. |
Good Morning Ladies,
Monday is WI day and I'm down 1.5 lbs this week. I forgot to mention when I told you about me being back on CAD that while I'm not really counting calories, I am trying to keep my foods in the low calorie/lowfat &/or lite range. That should keep the cravings for junk away. Besides anything sweet or starchy, I am allowed during my 1 hr range of the Reward Meal. Of course, you don't eat for an hour. However, I do try to eat the Reward Meal slowly and try not to go over 35 minutes. For those who do not know the Reward Meal works with the idea that starchy/sweet foods causes an insulin power surge. By eating those foods only 1x a day within 1 hour time period, you only have that surge 1 time a day. If you eat past that 61 minutes, you defeat controlling the power surge because you get a second one. I remember when I did CAD before that I learned that I was one of those people who could not go past the 35 to 40 minutes. So I try to limit my RM to only 35 minutes of eating. We are going to get a winter mix tomorrow and Wednesday morning so DH and I are going to the store today to get things that we need. May have to miss our BSF this Wednesday morning if it is icy. I don't drive in that stuff. Will have to see. Catch you later. |
Hello ladies,
Trish - YAY for the 1.5 pounds down! :cp: Hope you don't get too much ice and snow. Linda - hope you're having a good day. Carol - bet you're having a blast at Disneyland! You are missed. Today I have to take care of the first-of-the-month bills, but thankfully, most of them can be paid online. Then, I am going to look for some new colors and border for the den/playroom. It was done in a woods and deer border, but since the kiddos spend more time in there than Neal, I think I'll go with something in-between masculine and childish. Planning is more fun than the actual doing, lol. Have a good day, and stay OP! :grouphug: |
Talked to my sister for a while tonight. Then took my shower, washed my hair so I'd be ready to get up and go to BSF in the morning. Walked into the laundry room to put dirty clothes in the basket and looked out the window and snow was everywhere and it was still snowing. I couldn't believe how things had changed in such a short time. It had been snowing off and on most of the day, but didn't seem like anything was going to stick. I had talk to my group leader and told her that I would probably see her unless there was ice on the streetsm but I didn't expect it would be. What a surprise of how things changed with just a few hours. I will not be going any where in the morning and I doubt anyone else with be either.
Had a very good OP day. I have 4 OP days under my belt now. :carrot: I have to admit that sometimes I want something to eat and I grab a protien snack if I really, really need it. However, I don't do that unless I really know I'm hungry. Night time has always been my downfall, but I am absolutely determined to make this work for me this time. So if it is just one of those times when I just want something "mind" hunger rather than "tummy" hunger, I make me a cup of tea or get some wate and drink it. So far, so good. I heard today on another site of a woman who is combining SBD with her CAD. I find that kind of interesting. I'll have to think about that one, because I get recipe emails from SBD and they have some really good healthy recipes which would work great with CAD. I love their omlets. Jane Have fun with your redecorating the room project. I agree the planning is most of the fun. Well, I'll catch y'all tomorrow. Goodnight |
Hi ladies,
Trish - I'm glad you're staying in, and not trying to get to BSF today. Does your state usually get as much snow as you've gotten this year? Seems like a lot for SC, but what do I know, lol. Have you bought any of the string cheese sticks? I like them because it takes awhile to eat them, and they are good for us. Nice way to get some extra protein. I like the mozzarella and cheddar mixed ones. Today is Katie's birthday, and I'm taking her a nice (healthy) lunch to her work. She gets only 1/2 hour for lunch, so that's why we're meeting there. Mary is going to join us, if she can get away from her job at the same time. Then, on Sunday, we'll celebrate it properly along with 3 others. Four birthdays at once will be fun! I decided on a "movie theater" theme for the den/playroom. It is officially becoming the "family room" now, lol. I ordered some border that has a popcorn box, movie reel, director's megaphone, and movie tickets on it. From a different site, I ordered posters from the movies The Goonies, Stand By Me, The Breakfast Club, E.T., and Uncle Buck. I can't wait to make the changes! I'm doing well OP, and hope you are, too. :) PS - here's a link to the border, if you want to see it. http://www.borderstogo.com/874442.html |
Hello Everyone,
Jane We usually get snow only once the years when we get it. So 3 in one year is very unsual from what I understand. It turned out that there was no school for our kids today which meant no BSF either. So I stayed in and slept to get some much needed rest. I love the wallpaper. It should feel like being at the movies. Better have some healthy popcorn on hand. They'll be wanting it. LOL Hope you and the girls have a really good lunch together and tell Katie Happy Birthday for me. I got the sweetest email on FB from a grandson I didn't think I would ever see again. When my DD had some mental problems years ago, he went to live with his other grandparents and had nothing to do with this side of the family any more because I heard that he thought all of us were crazy because of some of the things they went through because DD breakdown. I recently wrote him on FB just to let him know that I love him. He wrote this morning wanting to know where I live in SC because he says he is coming to see me and that he loves me. I called my sister crying I am so excited. What a fantastic miracle. I can't tell you how wonderful that makes me feel. Hope everyone is having a really good day. |
Trish - oh my gosh, I am so very happy for you about your grandson!!
|
Thanks Jane. I remember when I was preparing dinner that you asked me if I had tried string cheese sticks. Yes, I love the mozzerella ones. I haven't tried the mixed mozz and cheddar. May try that to have a switch off.

Good morning!
Trish, that is just wonderful that your grandson is wanting to see you after all this time! I hope it's a warm, happy reunion for both of you! Jane, that wallpaper border is cute and will be the perfect touch with the movie posters. Your new room is going to look great! I hope you had a nice birthday lunch with Katie yesterday, and I hope Mary was able to make it. It's finally warming up here, and that means the snow is melting. But, our ailing sump pump wasn't able to keep up with the melting, and we discovered that our finished basement is flooded with several inches of water. So we'll be spending the next few days pulling out all the insulation and gutting the entire thing. I'm just thankful that no major appliances were damaged, but the carpeting is ruined and has to go, and the wall and flooring have to be torn out. Yuck! |
Hi ladies,
Trish - I was thinking that all this snow was out of the ordinary for your state. Our road crew is prepared from Nov through March for ice, etc. Again, I am so happy about your grandson. Let us know how it goes with him. Linda - I am so sorry for the mess in your basement, and wish I could be there to help you. There are mold prevention specialists that you might want to call to do their thing. Carol - I hope you had fun, and will be back soon! Hello to anyone reading this. I'm getting my hair lightened today, and cut into layers. I'm so ready for something new, and think the lighter hair color will go better with my lighter, older, face. Have a good one! |
Jane, you are a true friend to wish you could be here to help with the clean-up, but if you were here, I wouldn't make you work! You'll have to plan a visit sometime soon, when we can have some fun! ;) How are you liking your new haircut and color? I seem to remember that you already had layers in your hair?
Hi, Trish, Carol, and anyone else who's reading this! I have the day off, but that doesn't mean I have the day off at home. First, I have to wait around here for the dumpster for the basement clean-up to be delivered, so I'll use the waiting time to clean the house and get my workout done. Afterwards, I have to run to the bank and post office, and a quick stop by the supermarket. I have a load of stuff I've been meaning to take to Goodwill, so I think I'll get that done today, too. |
